Sounds like a good idea, but does this mean there won't be shadow badges/gorge skins for the people who donated anymore? If you have to remove my shadow perks, I understand, and after all I didn't really donate to get badges and skins anyway. It wou…

Of course both sides exist, if you look at any of my previous posts on the topic you can see that I have said multiple times that it's unfair for people to give bad scores for a game they've barely played or haven't played just bec… -

Absolutely; despite his best efforts to be diplomatic and fair TB clearly has big issues with this game, and it has very little to do with its price point. There are actual problems present with this game, and if UWE and FLG try to… -
Skulks can definitely be relevant in late game combat scenarios if you get leap and tons of upgrades. They're better than most at killing exos and with leap JPs aren't that big of an issue. Get close enough to a GL or FT marine and he won't be able …

To play devil's advocate here, I think it's entirely fair to give a game a negative review because you think it isn't worth its price. If you don't think a game is providing enough content to justify the money they're asking for it… -

I've always been a pretty vocal critic of UWE's marketing/PR strategy but to be fair UWE isn't really behind the Kickstarter prizes for the NS2WC, it was an event created by the community -

The real issue is that DayZ (and most other mods) add new content... All NS2:C does, when you really boil it down, is take content away. Yes, you can say that it's a streamlined version of the game and more accessible (although the… -
To get off the topic of release for a second, how do people feel about the babbler bombs in Combat? I've always hated babblers in vanilla ns2, they feel useless and overly clunky to use. Babbler bombs are sort of an improvement in my eyes - more int…

Where I live (US east coast) there was a single server that became fairly well populated most nights, although I haven't actually started up NS1 in a year or so now. Could be gone by this point. There are some NS2 communities that do occasional NS1 …

Because Source is much easier to run and provides fewer performance issues than Spark -
The game itself is great - it's the excellent gameplay from NS2 that we all know and love condensed into an easier-to-swallow package. I've always liked the Combat mod and this is a more polished version of that, so I'm happy with it.

I have to agree with this, which is sad because my experience with Combat has been mostly positive so far and I know it's important for FLG to make some money back from their work. That being said, in terms of player numbers it wou… -
Anecdotes are not as reliable as statistics gahhhh

I'm not getting this gorge tunnel debate. Gorge tunnels are essentially alien PGs. Yes, there are subtle differences, but that's what it boils down to. Marines have never been able to drop PGs in the opening seconds of the game, and for good …

Correct me if I'm wrong, but RO was free for a day, right? And then it went back to having a price. That's slightly different than being F2p permanently. The latter method will open the door for new players to join at any time, whi… -
They won't make much money off of a dead game either, and that's what NS2 will be within a year unless they do something like F2P
-
If we're really talking about getting a significant surge of players F2P might be the only way to go. When you're two years into a game's lifecycle, there won't be much more money to be made off of sales regardless.

Not a fair comparison. A follow-up to what is basically the most popular MP game ever, released by an extremely well-known developer with a much bigger budget. They also addressed problems much earlier in the game's lifespan than N… -
They definitely seem to have more players after that big spike

Unfortunately a lot of these problems are rooted in the game design. NS2 is a very difficult game to play, and there's so much info to acclimate yourself to. There will always be a steep learning curve, no matter what. I don't see how that could be …

Nano shields used to be used all the time because they were too good. As an alien, if you saw a nano shield dropped you pretty much had to retreat because it would be impossible to kill the guy for the next 8 seconds. Like little ubercharges that co…

The CDT has gotten the game to a place, performance and balance wise, where a F2P period could be beneficial and expand the game's playerbase. They should probably wait until after little things like crashes and bugs get sorted out. It always was a …

There's a difference between not liking change because it's change, and not liking change for specific reasons. Going onto forums and simply saying "I don't like this change" and not giving any reasons as to why you don't li… -

Try playing it before you judge. It's more or less the same as before, gameplay wise. You still move around with blink the same way. The only difference is two seldom used abilities are replaced by something that actually proves to… -
Excellent update. This is what the game has needed for a while. Well done

I have very fond memories of 250. So many improvements to balance

Hello Mineshaft my old friend

I wouldn't be surprised. It's much easier to learn and that makes a big difference these days. If properly marketed Combat could be a huge success.

Garry's Mod isn't standalone in the truest sense of the word. You need to own at least one game that uses the Source engine in order to use the GMod.

Can't wait to play this! Really hope it pulls in an audience
