I felt just the opposite. It wasn't that those mats were that hard to come by. It was the level of "FETCH QUESTING" required that I was turned off by.
I wish developers could be more creative with stuff like this. Seems that the major… -

You mean like running at a locked 60fps @ 1080p?
Yeah... It definitely has a real problem pulling that off. And even when you throw a ton of GPU/CPU horsepower at the problem, it still can't run smoothly 100% of the tim… -

Thanks guys.
Yeah... I went down to the Lost River and found the Disease Research Facility and all that stuff. Came back with the two Cuddlefish Eggs and hatched them.
Just got the message from LifePod 2 af… -

Oh yeah! Of course I watched it shoot that plasma ball up at the ship. But I have found no way to to the top of that structure. I went inside the lower building from the beach entrance using the purple tablet and scanned all the… -

Same here. I am still on the original rods too.

By "gun" do you mean the one in the glass case? I could find no way to get at it, if that is the gun you are referring to?
Other than that, I have not found any other weapon aside from the Stasis Rifle which isn't much of a weapon to be… -
I originally was running the game in 3840x2160 (Native 4k) which is how I normally run my games, but based on the graphics quality, it doesn't look like the game actually supports UHD resolutions with textures higher than 1080p.
At least… -

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The XB1 is running a version of Windows and DX11 which the game was built to run on from the beginning. Its obvious why the XB1 saw a version of the game before the PS4.
The PS4 uses … -
The game isn't exactly smooth as silk on a top of the line custom built gaming PC either. I built one, and Subnautica is one of the most glitchy/frame ratey games in my library. Lots of odd micro-stutters, pauses, lag or whatever you want to cal…

Yeah... I would ignore any comments about frame drops being your hardware's fault. As I pointed out above, my 1080ti and i7-7700k (both overclocked) should be able to run rings around this game based on the quality of the textures… -

Did you notice that 60026 is not included on that list at the link above?
Kind of odd, isn't it?

Thanks for the info! This was VERY helpful in determining what version of the public release I actually have at this time.
When I reverted back to the public release version from the Beta I am seeing those same numbers in those location… -
Since I am still unable to download #85 on Steam due to it not being available, I posted a bug report thread about it including screenshots taken a few hours ago showing all the relevant sections of my Steam Client. All listing #84 as the latest upd…

Are these cache clearing techniques still viable with the latest version (s) of the game? I have been running the experimental versions and am getting a lot of micro-stuttering despite using very high end hardware at 1080p.

I have been wondering why these lack the same labeling system as their smaller counterparts. Once you start labeling your wall mounted lockers, the lack of same on the floor standing versions becomes more and more annoying.

I hear ya. And the more I play the game, the more I am convinced that a lot of the frame rate/stutter issues are not the fault of our hardware, but the usual optimization issues on the development side.
One would hope … -

Cool!
What is the actual name of the piece you are using for the floating surface in the list of base building materials? I am not sure if I have a piece in my inventory that looks like that at the moment.

That's a really clever idea! I had considered doing something along those lines, but I wasn't sure if items dropped on the seabed were indeed permanently maintained in that exact spot.
Thanks for that helpful bit… -

Is there a "Controller" equivelant to that action? I am playing the game with my XB1 Elite Controller on my PC, and while I do use a wireless "Mini-Keyboard" for navigating around Windows etc. I just have a trackpad on this keybo… -

I agree 100% having recently obtained the SeaMoth which was a night and day experience compared to the SeaGlide!
In a way its unfortunate that a new player's first experience with a vehicle assistant is the SeaGlide an… -

I really miss not being able to rotate base objects before placing them like you can in NMS's base building process. Unless I am missing something?

YES! I got the blueprint to that special trash can and made one. It works great for getting rid of stuff you don't need or want anymore.
I dropped about 10 of those floating lockers in there and kept 8 for future use.… -

I sacrificed my ship to get some good clear shots of the thing closeup. Up till this point I had never gotten a really good look at it.Since I have no frame of reference being new to the game, I have no way of knowing what is normal and what might be bugged. I am toying with the idea of doing a re-install of the game for a few reasons. Primarily because my Steam Client refuses to…(Quote)
Thanks for that info! I was wondering where the end of the map was and how you would know. So I guess you could say that those Ghost guys are the game's equivalent of a barbed wire fence? in Seaglide? Aside from a headlight, what good is it? Comment by Goldengoose7 April 2018(Quote)
You're not being trolled. I got engrossed in playing the game after my last post here and just now got back on to read any additional posts in this thread.
No worries. in Seaglide? Aside from a headlight, what good is it? Comment by Goldengoose7 April 2018(Quote)
I just aquired the SeaMoth Sub.. NOW we are talking!
This thing can really move and is much faster than my guy can swim. And I have seen a speed advantage using the SeaGlide to get to the surface fast from depths of 10…Thanks guys!
I finally broke down and watched some YouTub videos on how all this works. I was trying to figure it out without any aids, but the building process is definitely unique and not obvious until you see how its done.

Are you playing the latest Beta? I am because for some reason Steam refuses to download version 85 to my PC, leaving me on version 84 and claiming it to be the latest update available.
So, I have been playing the expe…Thanks guys. I can see that it doesn't actually spin the prop when you are on the surface even though you are still moving forward without moving your arms. KInd of strange behavior and yes... This did add to my confusion since I assumed the thing…
