Even quake is bad with 100+ ping. The easiest shots can be missed and you will generally be out aimed by the opponent.

Improvement: Integrate the two server browsers together in some way, where clicking on a combat server in NS2 would close NS2 and launch NS2:Combat directly into the game you clicked on and vice versa. -

My latest setup is a i7 3770k with gtx970. 1920x1080 144hz (no gsync) with high textures and models, every other setting turned off. From what I've seen this is almost completely CPU bound, and the FPS can dip down to ~120-130 occasionally.

NS2 worked fine yesterday... now today I can't even get into main menu, it just hangs and then crashes.
EDIT: Unsubscribing from all mods fixed my issue. wtf? -

Haha I remember reading this too. There was also a rumor about how a change with viewing players in CS:GO by Valve meant a fix was impossible.

Kodiak isn't very good competitive wise, but it gives a different and fun experience for pub games.

Well you might as well ditch most of the official multiplay servers then because from what I've experienced they cannot hold a stable 30 tickrate even in normal 12 player games.

I've had a go on Wooza's.. the performance wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Of course when everyone is in the same room the tickrate bombs hard, otherwise some good laughs and the server actually does alright for how many people are on…

From what I thought the term Gather is used in Europe only (?). I've heard people talk about gathers but had no idea what they were. Every 6v6 game with mixed teams I've played in has just been called PUG's.

Example scenario: 24 player ns2_biome. By the time marines make it into falls there is usually 3 gorges setting with clogs, hydras, tunnels etc. No amont of aim can save you from a few gorges working together.

Am I the only one around here who is completed stumped that there is no 1st person sec? This is an FPS game, I could not care less about the top-level view. Even having the camera down on the map would be better.

What is even the point of the hive? We already have ns2stats, which IMO is a far superior system than the hive probably ever will be.
