My biggest problem: How do these creatures even have names?
-
I would love to see surface weather (storms/waves,etc) affecting the early game, maybe pushing the escape pod around (requiring/breaking a tether) or even sinking it in the long run, as a sort of push for players to explore beyond the shallows.
That's not at all a bad idea, especially given the game progression is pushing players to find and explore the island not long after the crash.I would like enemies to present unique challenges. Each one having a certain predatory behavior that can be countered via studying environmental cues such as how prey species avoid getting eaten, or by directly observing the predators behaviors/atta…Well aware of the game being too far down the development tube. Still going to make my suggestions on how I think the game should be improved.I would love to see a room by room electrical lighting system (including corridors) because that would add a small detail to the base system. However, that might not be appreciated by everyone, so having that as a selectable difficulty setting/optio…Best committee ever. The whole electrical system needs a rethink. There's a plethora of power generators for our bases, yet no power storage systems, while the exact opposite occurs for the cyclop, which has the power cell banks, but no possibility for power generation.…12) What if players could add cell holders similar to the cyclops engine (or the old power generator) onto either the inside or outside wall of a base?7) I was thinking about this a fair bit too. What about overhead lockers or foot lockers that could fit neatly in the corridor sections.Yes, there's more than 'exploring' a game beyond physical exploration, and discovering information about flora/fauna by observing and studying them in a scientific manner would certainly work in Subnautica. In gaming terms however, these tasks need …Of course, the whole discussion about pressure assumes that the Subnautica planet just so happens to have the exact same properties as earth. What if the planet has lower gravity than earth? What if atmospheric pressure was much less?My suggestion as to why the game doesn't need an airlock:
The hatch is more complex than just a sealed door. It also contains a force field type thing that only switches on when the seal is opened. The force field allows objects to forcefully …Question: How do any of these totally alien species have identifiable names (to the character/player)?
There are no records of these creatures, so how'd they get named?
Solution: Get scientific. Place an emphasis on performing cert…Why aren't power cells being used as the accumulators? Why add an extra power storage device to the game, when there's already one implemented?
All that is really needed is a device similar to the power cell ports on the Cyclops. There is a mechanic for creating water currents already. So, just have the pod on a slow path towards Reaper Leviathan territory, and let nature take it's course.(Quote)
That it does. That is pretty much the device I had in mind, although rather than an on-board fabricator, I would just add a recipe for an air-hose (a derivative of the creepvine comes to mind) and let the player attach more air-hos…I would love to see this get an update. This could be a great early game device, but it would be so much better if it were made into a battery/powercell powered float with an retractable/extendible hose system.
