Combat never had a chance to get any players outside of the seasoned NS2 players for a variety of reasons. The NS2 community is so small that I can't even get on NS2 servers sometimes these days so there isn't really much hope for combat.

Is there any reason to limit to 60 fps?

Of course upgrades are essential. A team that doesn't have shotguns and arms lab ups when fades come out should absolutely be punished for that. Level 1 arms lab upgrades are obviously the winner because those are the economical ones. The tech tr…

I think they are pretty balanced but people are just used to celerity and people play better when you give them what they're used to
-
Honestly the gameplay is pretty good these days with the current player base. I think back about all the wasted hours on rookie servers and it's much more enjoyable now. I like how most of the people who still play hate being on the winning side o…

It only happens if
1. Marine comm doesn't pay attention
2. Marine players don't lane
3. Marine comm fails to react in time
so if the marines essentially screw up 3 times they deserve to lose -
Missing out on carapace/adrenaline fade really hurts though

You can get good deals after the price drops in November/December, but then prices pretty much hold steady. Here's my graphics card, for example.

that stupid lmg scope messed with everyone so much

People probably vote kicked because it's frustrating to play without meds and ammo -
I haven't seen exos successfully contribute to a victory in many, many games. When I comm I would probably never get them if people didn't ask for them, I'd rather have my welding light armors do something more useful.

Stab is supposed to be an exo counter I think?

From my experience 2 or 3 people is plenty to shut down a vote on even the largest servers because there are always some AFKs and some people that don't vote
-
I was on a server that got stuck with AFKs on both teams yesterday. 5 AFKs, vote to kick one of them and we would get 11 yes 0 no and vote failed. Completely broken system.

Great, we can take the lag caused by cysts and double it then
-
Another issue is that the tech points are fairly isolated, so if you do the standard 'go to tech point, place phase gate, move on' you will almost always get killed on res and lose.

I don't think the imbalance will last though. Marines always lost Veil until they figured out not to suicide nano. Eclipse just needs some basic strategy to trickle through the pubs and marines will win more, unless the server is… -
I really think it will turn out to be marine sided in time, if people get some time on it. I think 4 tech maps are marine biased anyway, and eclipse doesn't have nano for a free alien double res nodes. In fact, all alien res nodes are extremely vu…

If the game is multiplayer coop (or PvP) with combat I'll be interested. If it's single player and/or doesn't have combat I don't see myself buying it.
-
It is in a weird spot though because an uncoordinated team can't use them, but a coordinated team is probably good enough to just buy a bunch of shotguns.
-
I'm pretty sure the only weapon/class they've added in the last 10 years is the hand grenades unless you count the alien abilities
-
I don't know why they couldn't put all the links in one place, even if they want to leave the actual research on the structures. In other words, give the comm a big tech tree to look at, and if he clicks skulk upgrade it will select a whip and star…

NS2 is player vs. player so the team that plays at a faster pace is usually going to win. Low skill servers usually have slow paced games that take 20-30 minutes.
-
It's a moot point to me anyway because people adjust their monitors. If you want a darker game, turn down your brightness... If UWE turns down the brightness, it's the same thing. The people you play against are going to set it however they want a…

It's designed for fast paced mutliplayer action, so it plays different from a single player atmospheric type game
-
I think maybe it's impossible to retain new players at this point. The skill gap is too great so that any one person who has been a regular player just completely breaks a server. I don't know how anyone could possibly learn commander if they have…

people like to choose their team though

15% of the way there on funding, not looking too good. That's too bad, I was hoping it would happen. Might extend the life of the game by a couple months.
-
Same issues as always. People get frustrated and quit after 2-3 bad games in a row due to stacked teams or whatever. Except now they go play GTAV or whatever and don't come back like they used to.
-
They have it backwards. If they put those resources into making the game more addicting to the masses, the comp scene would thrive off that. It doesn't really make sense to try to push the comp scene when the player count is low. It's like they a…
