It was a single year of free updates. The Reinforced Update came out August 2013, just 10 months after the game's launch. Let's not act like this was charity either. The reason developers release free updates as opposed to charging… -
I purchased the $40 tier, and I'm sorry to admit the Reinforcement Program has been a significant disappointment for me.
I saw it as a good way to invest in the future of NS2. I pay a fair amount of money, and in return we get continued … -
I like this first build a lot. It shows a lot of promise.
With regard to fleshing out the story of Subnautica, I think this might be one game where audio logs would work very well as a device. They make sense in the game fiction, since y… -
You mentioned players creating a "safety bubble."
It seems to me that many of the best rogue-likes have a mechanic that forces you to not stay in a bubble, keeping you on the move and hunting for more supplies. FTL uses the Rebel fleet a… -
Natural Selection 2 doesn't run great on low end hardware and it's a difficult game to learn with a high skill ceiling. Also it isn't marketed heavily.
The apparent cessation of content development won't help things. Community mappers wi… -

I don't feel like this was properly communicated to the community. I donated money with the expectation that it would pay for future content updates, assuming that the $550,000 is reached. You said in the reinforced program video, … -

He's paying money to support further development, which includes cosmetics. This is just the same as buying cosmetics to support the game. The order is just reversed. -

I don't understand this mentality. Why would you pay $75 to support this game, which includes cosmetic items, and then say you would rather have no updates if there are going to be cosmetics.
I find skins to be complete… -

Exactly, it's only really going to hurt lone wolf Marines in an Alien room.

Constant iteration will eventually lead to a better game.

Well, like anything, testing will show if it's balanced or not. Perhaps it could come free with Advanced Armory.

I think having pitch black rooms would be a great idea. Power nodes seem unfulfilled. The emergency red lighting just looks strange.
If the darkness is too powerful for Aliens, perhaps a prudent solution would be to give the Marines a pu… -
I'd like to voice my support for future improvements to infestation. I don't think it has reached its potential aesthetically or in terms of gameplay. This could be a really great feature of NS2 that currently feels rather bland.

The Reinforcement program isn't mean to be priced at fair value. I didn't pay $40 for an Assault skin. I donated $40 for future development, with the Assault skin as a nice bonus.
I agree that this system isn't a good long-term solution … -

Agreed. I think a late game option for straight damage that isn't a Shotgun is needed. Not everyone wants to play Exo either.

I think it's a solid map with a very basic layout. It's gorgeous to look out.
I don't like it as much as Descent, however, because it has less memorable game spaces. Descent has a lot of great little arenas that play differently. -

What's the second map? I know of Discovery.

The main difference is that it's more three-dimensional, and it spreads in random directions, and over walls seamlessly. Currently the infestation spreads in a circle around the cysts, and hardly ever takes over walls. It's very pa… -
Well, the game only has 8 or 9 officials map at the moment. That may be okay at the moment, but I promise you'll be bored of them in two years. I played a ton of Team Fortress 2 in the year following it's release, when it had the same number of maps…

Did you seriously just criticize them for a lack of tutorials when they JUST added new tutorials to the game? I watched my friend play though them last night. Guess what? He found them useful and informative.

You have to have a Steam account to play. So all they have to do is make it so anyone can download it on Steam without paying.
The technical aspect of it is the easiest part.

You clearly have a stigma about free to play games, which I don't share. Like any kind of business model, there are good implementations and poor implementations. Games which only sell cosmetic items, like DOTA 2, are great in a fr… -

I like the head bob with the male marine though. It's not just the camera movement though, it's the actual animations with her that look worse. -

Your math is off by orders of magnitude.

They raised $25,000 today. At that pace, they will raise the money in less than a month. Obviously, it won't maintain that pace. But can they hit $550,000 in six months? Probably.
I think the more interesting question is if they can get … -

If you don't mean to be disrespectful, then don't be disrespectful. Your tone is insulting when you say that they don't listen to player feedback or that they don't care.
