I see every NS2 game as an alien win unless marines stop them. Aliens will always win the long game.
Marine Dominance Perception
Part of the skilled marine bias is that a good marine can go 10-0 while staying in one lan… -
We added the 33% hunger drop on our server. Really works well. We had an issue with marines pairing up and holding locations, hoping air quality outlasted hunger. Now marines are more aggressive which is more engaging.

Simple idea. Reduce, slightly, the hunger bleed when infested are on infestation. allows them to set traps and wait a little for prey.

Nordic pointed me to this thread, as I was discussing the use of Power Nodes in another place. Here's what we came up with in another discussion.

Echoing some of what's being said in the above video. There's a lot of open space, and clear lines. not very much for aliens to hide. Think Transit/Smelting on Refinery, or Atmos or even bamboo Pass on Biodome. There's pillars, pipes, and even rafte…

Played this map on a random pub the other day, and I really must say I love it!
I was able to get this on an 8v8 server with some skilled players, and a trend tends to be showing.

It's not a recent Windows Update, as I did a clean install of 8.0 and 8.1 with no updates applied. Only video and wifi drivers.
It immediately failed. only a move to Windows 7 corrected it. It's a issue with Steam client and Windows 8.Tried a clean install of 8.0 and 8.1, no go. Reverted to Windows 7, all working. Don't know the cause, but it's very real and annoying. It doesn't happen with a local server (i.e. do a training/bot map, or sandbox).
It only happens when connected to external server. I've tried with and without the overlay, and I've even redownloaded/reinstalled steam and NS2.
…Happening here, too. I've validated files, deleted appdata folder, run as admin. All still occurring.
Trying non-modded servers now.Figure I'll put this here for public consumption. Tactical-Gamer's amazing coder Wyzcrack has done something similar. Currently it only applies to Strangers (people who haven't signed our primer on the forums), but it can be expanded to do much more…(Quote)
Agreed. I love the simplicity of it, yet it fulfills most of the desires of those who dislike concede in its current form.
