I kid, I kid. WoW has great style. The engine, though... a little old and creaky. Doesn't even have proper shadows. Rather sad.
You call those better? :O
wow's visuals are awesome imo. style over polycount. if you haven't noticed, WoW is going for a cartoony style, and needs polycounts low enough for lower-end computers to still be able to render tons of people at a time. with those things in mind, I'm really impressed at how good they still make it look.

Yeah, I totally dig the visual style of WoW, have done from the moment I first played it. Blizzard have always been smart enough to aim there game at the average system and not the high-end system. What they lack in detail they make up for in style.

Though, I do like they're love to give patches new visual things(mutlisampling ftw). All I'd like from here is the availability of HDR, maybe some normal mapping...Mm. Sexy.

Wow... I managed to play all of yesterday without crashing. I've been tweaking the living heck out of my PC but I'm really not sure what it is I did to get it to not have error 132. Either way I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that's the last I see of the stupid problem (knowing my luck though that crash-free day was a fluke :p ).

They all group together and just go for the highest level elites and mobs and through as many instances as possible wielding experience. They are sad, they don't leave their PC for hours on end.

This is ridiculously sad. I have nothing against hardcore gamers such as people who insist on "one match per day" and eventually enter CPL or something like that (nothing wrong with devoting your free time to gaming), but... Preparing an afternoon of sleep and organizing an optimized exp route (thus disrupting your normal train of life, surely) to be the first level 70 in the world? THAT's shameful, in my humble opinion.
You kinda have no room to talk, seeing as you're on a gaming forum, talking about games. You're automatically classed as 'sad' by 99% of the population. I see nothing sad in this at all.

I play games and there's nothing wrong about hobbies. However someone willing to sacrifice his personal wellbeing for something as trivial as a race to 70 probably has some issues, not because it's a game, but because he probably skipped class or didn't show up at work for one afternoon to sleep and a day or so for his marathon, and created a group of up to 15 people along to also forgo their daily routine to help him out (up to 35 in the evening), and played 28 straight hours for his goal. All this to say that he, along with many others, have decided to stop working or showing up in class just to gain 10 levels before the rest, and in my eyes there's something very wrong with that.
a 30 second news search yields this guy doing something much more dangerous IRL for much longer a period and involving a whole team of people, pretty much just to get on the news.
I wouldn't mind losing one night of sleep to have my name known by millions of gamers around the world...

HDR would ruin WoW.

Howso? Same effect as Bloom, just a bit more impressive.
