Alita is a classic... but after reading the entire series (up to the current issue) why even bother with the anime? I personally am not interested other than to fulfill my curiosity.
Started watching Minami-ke after recommendation from elsewhere. Really really funny. Apparently there's also a different group making their own version of Minami-ke which will be out this year.
It was named as one of the <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/feature/2008-01-01" target="_blank">best 2007 anim series</a>. So I am curious about it.
Another animes that seams to be excellent : <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/beck-mongolian-chop-squad/dvd-1" target="_blank">beck</a> and <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2480" target="_blank">Air</a> and <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=6536" target="_blank">Le Chevalier d'Eon</a>
* links are for the general description. What I have seen is based on DVD release reviews and best of the year reviews.

Cheeee, filling up my anime profile at <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com" target="_blank">AnimeNewsNetwork</a>, I realized I have seen much more animes then I thought. I am pretty sure some shows I have seen were not even listed there. And I thought I was an anime noob (well related to animes that came out in the last 3-5 years, then yes I am a noob). But there are so many animes out there I haven't seen ....

Just finished watching Spice and wolf. Was a pretty good series with two pretty interesting main characters and I really like that it avoided the usual swords and sorcery stuff; instead it delves into the complex and intriguing world of the merchant!
While I tend to complain about most films and the like insulting your intelligence by explaining too much, this is probably the first series that I felt they could have explained more in. There were a couple of times stuff went over my head and once or twice I found myself searching around the web for some kind of summary of what just happened.
All that said, I kept feeling compelled to watch more and now the 13th and final episode of this season is out I've seen 'em all and I quite enjoyed it despite being confuzzled =D
Well... I've seen them all except for episode 7 which isn't out (it'll be released with the series DVD which isn't out yet either. Luckily the episode doesn't seem to be critical to the story).
There is just this one thing that bugs me. Why is it that they all tolerate that an A-Class is being part of an F-Class team ?
About 3-4 episodes left and they still haven't leveled up from F-Class (unless by defeating the Mamouth D-Class they get to go C-Class <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />) ?
Last week I discovered Crunchyroll site. I looks like they are hosting only non-American-licensed anims. Some are raw and some have English subtitles. They claim to work with the government to keep this site up and legal.
Code Geass is done. I actually teared up hearing this song. Especially considering the scene in which they were playing this song. <center><object width="450" height="356"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kzaLJ0i52UY"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kzaLJ0i52UY" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="450" height="356"></embed></object></center> I think Code Geass has topped my list of favorite shows.
This is my largest thread ever, and I haven't contributed to it since page ...10 or something.
I don't know how it lasted so long.
I want to know where everyone hears about new anime. The only time I ever see it is if some random TV station tries to reach out for niche viewer groups (like SciFi and CN and ...some other network, G4 maybe). I think TNT had some at some point as well. Exciting trivia: the first anime I remember is EYES of Mars, which I believe was on SciFi when they had anime at 3am. I only saw it once, but I'm pretty sure I remember a vast majority of the plot (I was intrigued by the concept of a fifth planet forming the asteroid belt and bubble cities on Mars...but I don't really remember why the specific 'convent' of girls was down there.
There was also another movie or series I saw, but I only remember the ending credits being a (small) figure with a cape blowing in the wind with brown rocky outcroppings and a blue sky. Not Trigun, but I do think it was on an alien world with some sort of problem...maybe some anime guru can piece that together into something coherent.
...Have there been any new movies by the Princess Mononoke/Spirited Away guru guy Miyazaki?

I'm currently working through Wolf's Rain and Slayers. Never saw Slayers before, and my friends keep gushing about how a new season started. Yeah.... especially with all the free time I obviously have lying around.

I know there are a number of news sites that talk about what is currently being aired/what is coming in the next season.
A list of everything Miyazaki has done is <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayao_Miyazaki#Filmography" target="_blank">Here</a>. A nice reference to see if you have watched it all.

Can't be that one, it has to be from 2003 or earlier (probably mid-90s, since it was on SciFi). Fairly sure it was full-length and not just a series as well. I hold very little hope for finding it.
