it's understandable that you can't see stuff up a hill, but when that stuff attacks you and you can't return fire, your units turn into sitting ducks. i won a game earlier solely because he couldn't attack me from downhill. in the original, the units uphill would be favored, but they wouldn't automatically win.
I just found out something which most likely will never occur in a real game, but it's still a bit fun.
Neural parasite from the infestors can take over any unit and their abilities, if you take over a worker, you can build a hive/nexus/CC and thus the entire tech tree in the end. Played around a bit and found out nukes and everything else works as if it was your starter race.
Why this wont ever work? The scv still got sight from the other player and cant move away from the infestor, which also is immobile during control. Unless you take one on some island and knock out his air support.

Well you could build a CC and fly it safe. This is incredibly risky, but if it works it's well worth in the end.

but...anyways when you get enough marauders you need to micro a ######load in order for them to kill them.
Best way to counter Roaches..rush base with like 5-6 marines at the start and by yourself time.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
A couple of Hellions in the mineral line is pretty devastating, especially if your opponent doesn't move his workers.
And Marauders have a greater range than roaches, but your right, alot of micro is required if your in the open. Or medships. Medships are great :)
By the way, for any protoss players or terran players out there, I've noticed that High Templar aren't used all that often. I expect their use to go down even more with the fairly huge psistorm nerf in the latest patch, but I still find a lot of use for them against MMM or 3M Ball, whichever you prefer. First, you can use feedback on the medivacs which, if the medivac is at full energy (they almost always are), will one shot them. Assuming your HT's have been a around for a while and have enough energy you can follow it with some storm drops. Feedback also looks like the counter to late game battlecruiser spam and if you mix in some carriers the terran player will almost always target the carriers instead of your HTs. With no energy they can't do the super cannon shot and instead they almost get killed in one hit. Of course, terran can completely neutralize this with EMP.

The problem I have with HT vs Ghost is that Feedback requires casting on each ghost, whereas EMP is aoe... so whenever I roll out HT to take down a mass of marines, I get EMPed and focused down... it's got a lot to do with how much I suck at micro too I suppose.

Yeah, EMP is a pretty hard counter to Protoss. Only thing I can recommend is making sure you have an observer with your army, and hoping to god you can kill the Ghost(s) before they can EMP.

To not suck at it would mean you're jaedong, effort, flash, or some other pro korean player. Ghosts have an incredible advantage over HT and once ghosts get out a lot of the HT's usefulness goes away. It totally blows.
I try to use them when I know the game is going to go on for a while and I'll build a pylon somewhere very unlikely to be revealed on a scan then tech to HT's there. Sometimes I don't even research Storm if I'm confident my army can take the MMM ball without storm. Either way I try to keep them hidden except for what I assume would be the final battle because one ghost can potentially counter every HT. If I see ghosts before, I don't even go HT.
Infact, the amount of protoss units that are countered by EMP is just borderline insane. I think it's complete crap that it gets rid of both shields and energy and it's an AOE.

Good to hear that's a general problem and not me just sucking. I've improved a lot since I started.. I hadn't played an RTS in anger in about 10 years, so I'm re-learning the very basics again, but I still have a very long way to go.
w00t just got the invite in my mailbox :) And I only signed up like 2 weeks ago too! Probably because I have such an ancient computer :D Shame I have to wait to tonight to play >:(

Well, apart from having to dial the UK to speak to someone in the blizzard offices 2km from where I'm sitting, the whole reactivation process was painless. phew!

As it turns out, my authenticator is not working correctly. I had some further auth issues today and now I've had the authenticator removed from my account.

Not air units since patch 5 I believe.
