Okay, I want to know one thing now. I've been playing Natural Selection since 2.0 and I still don't know what exactly +movement is. At first I played without autoswitch but it was too difficult to be a fade and not being able to switch the attacks instatnly when you pressed the button for it. With autoswitch it worked pretty well.

I'm pretty excited for the engine test - the player models are absolutely beautifully detailed, it might be the most graphically detailed game to date. Not bad for an indie.

The non/semi-updates are starting to wear on me. Last week a clarification on a previous announcement and this week a nice looking video of mostly stuff we've already seen and half a second of a shadow. Oh, UWE...

They probably are working hard trying to pump out the engine test. They probably don't want to miss a deadline.

The hyperlink isn't working, neither the news title one or the twitter. It said no items were found.
Edit.. hmm bad link.. it is "http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/news/2010/4/____,%20Reveal" instead of just "reveal".. strange name :p You better change it.

this would be perfect - as it is really easy to spot enemies in games because your eyes just look for movement.
In a factory or refinery there would be moving parts everywhere - and this would provide the perfect cover for aliens, as marines wouldn't be able to focus on things so easily. I don't think this has ever been done in a game, can you imagine how alive the level would feel? If they are alreay using models, I wonder how hard it would be to make them animated - just small irregular movements.
probably worth putting in the suggestion forum Kwil :)
EDIT: and if not the marine environments, I hope that the infestation will move, expand, bubble, breath etc to provide this living feeling, and also decoy for the aliens.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
This, and bonus points if vents occasionally release pressure spraying a cloud of steam, complete with the high pitched whistle and temporarily obscured visibility.

Beautiful, simply beautiful. *wipes a tear from his eye from laughing and the good vibes from the video* And set to the music Aeroripper put it to? Is this where I insert a over 9000 meme? :D
One point which somewhat confused me in NS1 already: the eyes of the Gorge are outside his head (<i>Well, just where you would expect to find eyes</i>) but when you actually play one and can see the world through <i>its eyes</i> - Why the hell can I see my tongue, teeths and whatsoever. I mean, alright, it's a nice gimmick but well, wouldn't it make more sense to put the eyes at this spot where you expect them (<i>Somwhere in its throat</i>). Aliens suffer from a somewhat weird physique. Eyes are on the outside but you can see the inside of their mouths. Scary. ô.ô

no weapon switching involved.
