Great job on the level, After learning a bit of what it takes to get the rooms to flow i can see your married to this map! Can't wait to see it released "with" beta.
The video spot on Natural Selection 2 HD was awsome, makes one want to ...well...spit slime and hydras all over it!

Yep, i seen that somewhere when i was toying with swish-max on <a href="http://www.super-nova-team.com/password.html" target="_blank">"this Flash project"</a>, even made it bite the keypad when you enter the correct code.
I think the chap was complimenting your photographic skills, or, expressed in different words, the framing you have used. I've read this thread just today and no one suggested 'Rubble'. Obvious rock themed name but with a hint of degredation and wear that suggests an alien takeover.

Really impressive work.
I would assume and hope the NS dev team support these efforts by allowing automatic downloads of custom maps etc to make it painless to actually have a go playing these online.

That is on the planned To-Do list; however, it's way <b>way</b> down the list. To give you an idea of how far down, it's listed after Dynamic Infestation. So, it will be a <b>very</b> long time before auto-download of custom resources (maps/sounds/cinematics/etc.) is added to the engine and server. I can say this because a few weeks ago all of the current technical tasks showed up during one of the Pivotal Tracker glitches. I saw the auto-download on that list. So, fear not, it is planned.
@SgtBarlow: Nice! Very good use of a normally overused effect! Is it safe to assume this is a yet unreleased engine feature, or is it really clever use of some FX?
It was a feature the editor had originally, but got disabled for performance reasons. The flag is still there on the lights, it's Ambient Lighting, it just doesn't "work".

@Mendasp: Thanks for the answer. I hope Max and company can work their magic on this soon.
@peregrinus: Assuming the custom map doesn't use new textures/props/etc. resources, it's a snap. Just copy the ".level" file into the "../Natural Selection 2/ns2/maps" folder and you're good to go. It's worth mentioning that you'll have to manually load the map by typing "map mapfilename" into the console. The reason being, right now the vanilla game has the "allowed" map names set in the code. There is no reason a server couldn't change its map list though. Hope this helps.

overviews have to be copied over as well though, we tested ns2_sample on SN.Wolf's server and I was messing around with an overview batch generator, and the minimaps weren't there (deleted them for testing).
Map is unplayable without minimap for both commanders, you can't move, can't order your MACS or Drifters to build.
This effect was very nicely showcased in one of the video casts... Lemme see if I can dig it up from the archives, I think it was the fourth videocast...
[edit] Video cast 5 actually (the blinds and the glass hallway), so hoping it will get back in soonish :P

That is correct. I work on more official projects now. Plus I started much of this before any specs about the game where known so many places are too small as it turns out.

There's also a lava texture in there too. I don't think we have one at current do we? =[
