Had a quick go, jumped into the middle of a 5 v 6. On the tech level it's starting to take shape, on the gameplay level its still a grind.
Tech
-Reasonably stable 60 fps, a few stutters. i7950 5870.

-Microphone sounds better than I remember.

-New infestation looks good.

Gameplay
-Marine movement "still" feels blocky and restricted.

-Still not having fun in the games, 10 minutes is all i can handle. Hives go up, hives go down, fades are a dime a dozen, marines lose a phase gate or outside base etc etc
Seems like if you luck on some good people you can have a good game, but the game gravity is toward grind and lots of little battles that don't mean much.

No one cares about where he was on your screen. Server compensates for that delay when checking your "I fired my gun" message by rewinding enemy position in time by interpolation time. I might be wrong but in this case I think he had at most rotated, he never moved so that doesn't even matter.

It wasn't a case of too late. It was that he rotated but before my client updated I had shot him. Then my client shows him rotating a short time later. It was a very rare situation.

I still don't understand you "calling me out" as nothing you have said contradicts what I said.

IMO it is best to give players the option to customize net settings. I don't really want to go off-topic with this so I'll leave it at that.

What I said contradicts your logic - the part where you say something among the lines: "I saw that on client and that *had* to have happened on server". That's false.

Why do you think it wasn't because of being too late? Because you saw it on demo or what?

Assuming both of you had interp=0 the same could have happened if he had lower latency than you.

I would not use the word continual. Why? In 2 years we have been given a fade and chambers which aren't complete. That's not continual. That's... something kind of slow that isn't as slow as backwards.

We've been given alot more than that.. =/. Not to say progress might be slow or not, but exagerating, ommitting or cherrypicking for arguements sake isn't very constructive.

I was really looking forward to this patch, but I felt really let down - I was really hoping for more changes/bugfixes....

Just kidding, excellent work gentleman.

The performance is much improved for me, very smooth now.
I really like the new sounds as well, very well done.

Well done to all the testers, I work in software testing professionally and I understand how hard this stuff is.

Bravo.

i get this in console and it ends in unplayble lag every seconds: GetLightsForPowerPoint(powerPoint): Couldn't find location entity named - Client

Seems to be an error on Summit.

I see that too.

With gamebooster on i get between 15 and 25fps, but what drops my framerate the most are the eggs XD

My feelings exactly.
FPS decreased significantly, crosshair movement feels very laggy and hitting anything feels a miracle that happens once or twice per round. It is very frustrating.
I tried reinstalling the game which might have improve my FPS and stuttering little bit. But mouse lag, hitreg and also the overall FPS are still very bad.

Small bug that I found playing as comm earlier:

When constructing more than one ARK, if you click to build the second ARK before the first has left the Robotics Factory the first will dissapear, wasting your resources

I didn't have a single crash yet. Are you talking about server or client crashes? If its a client crash, does the ns2 log contain anything?

It's not even that, I can be aiming directly at a target and two thirds of the shots just don't do anything, I don't think it's a visual bug either because I only get kills when it registers a hit, and the aliens show no signs of reacting to hits that don't register. They run like hell if I actually land hits but they just act as if I missed most of the time.

I dunno what anyone else is talking about, my FPS increased an average of 60-100%. It still drops considerably (read: 185 levels between 12-16FPS instead of 20-30FPS) later in the game when there are a lot of structures but I expect that. 186 was a godsend for me, it made the game playable and I expect UWE will continue to look for ways to increase the performance of this game.

I've not had a single crash either and i get a constant 40+ fps, performance is great for me in build 186.

reinstall of game files has not helped. still crashes, I will remove the OC on my gpus (just in case - but it wont be this). UWE deffinatly broke something. I think it happens when I 'use' the armory. I will keep trying to track down the fault

sucks to be you guys with performance drops I guess...

for me performance is way up on the previous patch, and I am really happy to see it.
Fade is smooth as hell now, and balance aside, its fun to play again.

Well done Flayra and Team (not sure who contributes most directly to the perceived 'laggyness'/ fps).
just a shame I blew all that money on other games during the last patch, because, its most definitely NS2 time once more.

Pretty sure the stuttering is to do with the server you are on, try another.

Type net_stats in console and keep and eye on the Server Tickrate. Good is around 20-30.
If it drops below 10 or jumps etremly around you may switch to another server.
