Can you try to lower your texture quality settings? Disapearing models can be caused by a lack of video memory.
Is there any error message in the console/log?

Yeah, I'm getting this as well. Plus servers seem to be crashing quite a lot.

I played a few games. People keep whining about fades but even with the warping and the lack of reg, I managed to solo 3 on the trot with a shotgun. Seems it could be more of a skill thing.

It is a good Tickrate for NS2, and we are on NS2 BETA so NS2 will have 60-100 Ticks when the game is done.

Afaik Source has a 66 max.

In most modern games its not as high as it was in cs times... i doubt well see 60-100.

More like somewhere between 30-60 max.

It goes much higher than 66. 100 tends to be standard in the CS competitive community as an example.

Anyone else's sounds seem muddled, like you are underwater? I've only experienced this from the marine perspective, full health , and can't understand what's causing it.

Also, and I submitted this several months ago, when you are an alien and have full health / armor with armor upgrades, if you select an evolve upgrade, your armor resets to its base level so you have to heal all the way up again. Annoying. I think you should have max health and armor when evolving into a different lifeform as well.

Do you mean that the sounds from teammates and enemies are muffled? Or does that include your own weapons as well?

Simon has added new muffled effects for sounds from sources that are out of your LOS. But if your own weapons sound muffled as well, then that is a bug.

I agree that losing armor after evolving as alien is quite unfun. It limits aliens to evolving near Hives, and even then, adds extra downtime to the already lengthy evolving time.

Yeah, I've noticed this. I don't like it. I think it makes it harder to hear the location of enemies and it sounds unnatural as there is no gradual change.

I really liked it as it seems to add more realism since, for example, you can hear people shooting in the next room but the sound is slightly muffled as it would be in real life from the sound bouncing off multiple sources before hitting your ears. Admittedly I was only able to play for maybe an hour because there were too many issues on the few servers I tried playing on.
