    <img src='http://img73.exs.cx/img73/8972/ns020005.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    This map will probably never be finished..but..who knows <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    The only complaint would be restrict the amount of writing on the computers. Thats about it. Other than that, AWESOME job!

    Excellent stuff Kawak! I really like how you managed to make some really interesting lighting with almost only white lights. Impressive! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Sorry to hear that you lost the Akaba-source. I was looking forward to that map. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    First I hear Dux^ lost the Parabola source, now Kawak lost the Akaba source, oh how NS has suffered when I was away.

    It is looking nice I will agree, although the ceiling texture doesn't do much for me and its a rather plain area. Although I suppose simple is good.

    That shot looks really good kawak. The only issue I have is with the light under the steps. What's the use of a light under the steps? It just makes where you are putting your feet harder to see. Nice work otherwise though.

    I really wish we could get the ns devs to keep some kind of source repository tied to our usernames. Even if there was some limit of like four or five files it would be nice to have the ability to keep map sources on something that we know is secure. On top of that these files zip up unbelievably well, most of my unfinished maps come under the attached file requirement, and I can't see them getting that much bigger.

    Oh well, I guess it's one of those ideas that looks great on paper, but that's about it.

    ns_binary update:
    - halved the face count on the curved surfaces, can't notice much visual difference ingame, also seemed to fix vis errors
    - stretched the texlight textures underneath the grating to reduce poly count
    - restructured the outside area to be much smaller (two less curved sections)
    - added some hint brushes to separate the outside area from the corridors into the surrounding rooms
    - fixed some faces that i'd left null on (oops)

    wpolys have been reduced from avg 900, peak 1200 to avg 600, peak 800

    Not bad. Although many of the textures are overused/repetetive.
    Try and get more lighting methods in there.

    wow samah, that's awesome. i love it! very original.

    the first pic though- it would be nice if the support was textured with something that seemed more like it was supposed to be there. it's very generic at the moment. if you used a texture that seemed as though it was designed to be a support or had a less generic look, i think that scene would be better. that diamond texture really isn't that great anyway. awesome walkway though.

    same with the second pic, though i fear there is not enough light. where the res node is.. you see how if you go out there is the slightest bit of raised height? well that verticle bit that's maybe only 1 or 2 units high, put a white texture light there and see how it looks. also, on the left, it looks as though the structure just ends... maybe it's supposed to, but it still feels odd.

    third pic - looking terrific. i love all the accent lighting. now add some accent lighting on the inside <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Agree'd here. I would personally like somewhere else but constant backups (Floppy/CD-R/Zip/Multiple Source Saves) on my own system. Although I suppose I could use my own webspace.

    Still a nice idea maybe for the S&I Forums, I'd say limit to 3 source files per user, and mappers would have to apply for the right to use storage space.

    Yeah I agree on the repetitive, but unfortunately not much else goes with that texture.
    On the other hand, if you want overused and repetitive, take a look at veil and eclipse <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Changes:
    - adjusted support textures to be more in line with surroundings
    - added light on lip next to res node (and lowered res node a few units)
    (thx Belgarion ^_^)

    Started working on another section of the map (I'm going to leave the tube as it is for a bit).
    I'd already done most of the following section, but tonight I added the glass, skybox and support beams. Also tweaked the existing texlights on the edge of the computer screen, as well as adding some blue ones on those platforms near the walkway.
    Will probably increase the intensity of the yellowish lights on the support beams a tad.
    Bedtime now <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Samah, why not make a thread for your map? This thread's only really meant for a few screens, and making your own thread would be much better if you're going to post frequent updates.

    mrcoffee...
    Wow man.
    Good job, I like the lighting, (just so you know, the lighting is fine)

    Although the pipes look sort of tacky to me for some reason. Good job though.

    These are screenies from beta 2f (beta 2 fix) of a "fun" map I'm making.
    By fun map, that just means that its meant to be fun, sporting gameplay unlike most NS maps. (Its funny to shoot down skulks that are chasing you down on the tram)

    allso, the cabels in the first pic... they look a bit "to mutch"
    id vote fore losing them, or not making them go all the way
