So subtract a point for relative realism and intuitive play (joe noob says, "medpacks = invincible?"), but add one for strategy and breadth of play for the comm.

NS is a team game, so how about going about it another way?
If 1 marine is sitting on a ton of meds then he cant really move elsewhere, so why dont you just wait until he moves...
If its a jper, have a lerk nearby, a few spikes should do the job nicly, its pretty hard for a comm to spam mps on a marine that is in the air...

hey you want to know something fun to do.

If the enemy is being med spammed, and he got bad aim, just keep biting him and letting him heal over and over and over. man ive gotten coms to waste so much res doing that.

    My 0.02€ on medspam:
I don't like it. I heavily favour aliens, and so I only see medspam from the bad side, namely when my prey receives that little boost to his health that he needs. But then again, I don't like lmgs, pistols, hmgs, gls, shotties, sentries or sieges. Oh, and mines, I don't much like them either. But I don't want any of 'em removed. As I have stated before, if a comm is prepared to shell out the res that it requires to cover the floor with medpacks, he better get a little value for that 30+ investment. Generally, medspam is a waste of res, as the marine will usually be killed a little later anyway. So, while medpacks annoy me a little, I don't view them as much more than a minor nuisance. It's like a gorge, only faster and more expensive. Like a private parcel express.
Keep the medpacks. I think they're all bark and no bite.

As far as my experience goes, mines that blow up because an alien touches them do not damage nearby marines. I find this much more annoying, as a marine with mines can quickly but down a little field of mines, then sit in it and shoot at everything that moves. A skulk that tries to eat him touches a mine and dies, but the marine is unharmed. Of course, I am aware that perhaps the marines just have full health when I blow myself to bits, and thus survive the mine but take damage. If so, nevermind.
But if I'm right about it, then I find it annoying (I don't want to use "unbalancing" just yet). A marine with mines can setup a little zone of invulnerability (almost) that is quite a lot more effective than medspam, as it kills skulks relatively well before they can reach the marine (if he doesn't kill 'em first, mind you), instead of just healing a marine that's already in trouble.

I dont like that touching this little box on the ground gives marines half thier health back instantly. you can be defending a hive, put a couple of bites on a jp'er, and then blink-blink, he's instantly ok due to medpacks. It doesn't balance against alien regenerative abilities, despite the commander having to pay for them.

    Noe to spam!21
