I would recommend starbases, as 5 destroyers is only 10 attack ...and that's like a level 4 starbase. While you'd need a cruiser (...or 10 destoryers) + more to defend that.
In other news: I control all 12 planets in my system...now I just need a system for my 13 planet... I'll just send a colony ship...and uhh, a couple battleships, and anyone that wants to attack my new colony can get utterly owned...Or I could be mean and just take a newbie's planet.
Somehow I ended up with -884 A$ yesterday...it made no sense...NO SENSE...how can i get negative money, wth is up with that?

The price you actually pay is the difference between the new price and the old price divided by 2 plus the old price.
I'm gonna build a couple destroyers and wipe out the AFK'ers in my system. Then sell the SU and buy a buttload of PP to upgrade my relatively low lvl stuff.

I just discovered this little remote planet out there and its inhabited by many types of strange creatures that im going to attempt to capture, study and then train to use on my invasion transports.
This new alliance I am in is AWESOME. Firstly, I won those both battles and I'm now lvl 3 - 22% and I gained 3 supply units but I sold themn (strangely enough I didnt get a single pp for one of them) But now he has launched a new semi offensive against me: 00:09:21 - Oct 30 Attention !!! Me and 6 other of my allies are ganging up on another guy in our vicinity. He's tried to hassel 2 of us before, and with all 7 of us having nothing to do, we decided to attack him. He owns his entire system, and has lvl 14 starbases at each planet, but we all have fleets of 80 battleships each, so we hope it goes well. The 7 of us are sending our fleets out now and are having them arrive tomorrow morning.

So yesterday was ~1200, today was ~1600 so
1600 - 1200 = 400
400 / 2 = 200
200 + 1200 = 1400.
1400 is the price you would have paid. So I am guessing you bought 4 SU's

Firstly, I won those both battles and I'm now lvl 3 - 22% and I gained 3 supply units but I sold themn (strangely enough I didnt get a single pp for one of them)

This new alliance I am in is AWESOME.
We just took a whole system from a player with a PL of 12 in less than 24 hours.
5 of us all attacked the system, taking planets and killing population!
