well yes and honestly we wil all just have to use similar texture sets any way or else it will be a pretty wierd looking map anyway. i suggest we pick one or two sets and use those. my current favorites are teh panel texture set from ns2.wad and the black wall set from ns.wad but they arent all that compatible. and teh black wall set is only four textures.
I think we should use ns2.wad's wall_rock and wall_yellgrey sets. Probably would need to make a wad of those as 128x128 textures but I think they can work together fairly well and there are more space station type maps atm than mine/colony ones.
Also FB, you might want to place a vent in MS, just so we know how you want them done. Even if it doesn't go anywhere it would help.

I have created a wad contained most of wall textures resized to 128x128 size (Is based on Crome Angel's resized wad and extended). It was for ns_hulk but I will provide it for this project.

I will contribute a wad with some extra custom textures I use in my map... give it some time man. some of us are paralized in pain on the floor.... not cuz of those pics tho. ^_^ actually i think that's fairly original, most people have a hard time mixing ns/ns2 wads. i guess you've just decided everything for us eh.
It looks like your texlights are barely casting any light. That may need some tweaking. Also you never specified compiler settings.... which are just as crucial to lighting as the .rad file is. I'm sure anyone here would be happy to help in getting this ball rolling if you need some suggestions.
Yea, I'm going to include a batch file with the compiler settings. And I use Cagey p12 tools.
zazi, not really, because you don't know what room or kind of room you will be making, but if you want to gamble, you can make a room. Just hope you can make it fit in. That way, you have more time to work on your room.
Preferably though, you make it when it is your turn. Think about node placement, and whoever goes first decides where the MS I made goes then everyone works off of that.
And again, I know the lighting needs work. That was off the first compile so I just did it and took the screenies.
Ok, after our Zazi pie, roasted of course.....(?).... When will we find out the turn list, so to speak (i dont want to go after some of these guys, they leave funny smells hanging around , just kidding, but seriously, whens it going to kick off?

BTW, I re made that room in Radeiant last nite and I like that better. It's a lil more NS2.wad, but it still has the walkway texture from NS.wad. I'll post screenies when I get home tomight, which may be later than normal since I have a job interview and have to take pictures of Wrestling (sp?) for Yearbook because the ditsy girl that was supposed to made up an excuse and I have to...
But... I will work on it a lil bit (lighting node placement ect..) when I get home, then get a compile and post screenies of it. You will all receive a PM with a URL, a user and a password to access the map, the batch file for the compile, and the rad file.
hmmm hotseat.... That's cool, it is the weekend here in NZ and I have heaps of time to do this. Just going to integrate this batchfile - the lighting looks too bright & uniform for my liking with my settings (nothing like your screenies)
When I think about this and the logistics of it, I think that we should all contribute a rough layout of an adjacent area to where we have been given, with simple placeholder textures and main features only. Then we can discuss the structure of the map an how well it seems to play. When we are all confortable with the layout, then we will know where there is room to add detail.
After the detail is finalised, I think that we should do a good lighting pass, where the entire map is taken into consideration. Without the whole map to look at, it is difficult to light or texture any particular room.
With this in consideration, I am going to keep my portion simple, and propose that we go for 1 day each (for a first pass) and then do a second pass once everyone has laid down their rooms for the detail and for everything that isn't stuctural.
If you guys want to work together on a layout, go ahead. I just figured that if you left spaces for doorways that people would figure out how to put a room in and think about what the next person might do. The point of this is really to see how it turns out without having a real plan, leaving each section to each individual mapper to decide what to do next.
