    What about the behind the tram area? Has that been extended to provide a sense of continuance of the tunnel, or are you just sticking with the old style where it almost immediately goes dark? Screenshots are looking great, of course.

    There was at least room for 6... I could have sworn there was enough for 3 MC, 3 DC, and a sens or two... I'm not sure, but It was probably either room for 6 or 8, and i'm pretty sure it was 8... (mind you, there's 4 on the bottom, and 4 stacked on top of those.. and then just enough space for a gorge to run really small laps.

    Just tried it out in 3.0... there's really only room for 4, unless chambers were somehow more stackable in a smaller space in 2.0, which they didn't seem to be to me.

    Will you be making the source available to mappers who want to make extra expanded or tweaked versions of Bast?
    You would not have to release it openly, for example give it out to individual requests.

    I don't understand the reluctancy to do public beta tests myself. I don't see what harm it can do, and also can help collect lots of feedback from the people who play ns most commonly - ie 'the public'.

    I tend to agree on this point - "if you serve it, they will come" and you will find anything that needs fixed/changed due to exploits, balance, feel etc...

    Even if I was in on the private "inner circle" I would love the public to be able to join in... I don't know how many releases there were privately for the Steam version of NS but we ratcheted up to public beta3 pretty quickly...

    Ok, we just had a small playtest on the map with some people from the #nsmapping-channel and some PTs. Looks like the map works quite well, and the biggest issue right now seems to be the lighting that's way too dark.     There will be public PTs, just... not now, they will happen when we feel the product is more finished and presentable to the whole public. It doesn't take so many time to get it to look right. We just have to work on the lighting now and the few bugs that we found.

    I hope that the entire map is still sexy, unlike the new marine start in hera... and a lot of other additions/changes in hera...

    I checked, and I was right. It does look odd in your pictures for that reason...

    I'm not sure if you can change the order, but it would be nice if you could put that back to how it used to be...

    I'm not really sure why I want it that way, I just know that it looks strange the way you've got it.

    With water corridor I suppose you mean the one with the water vent to feedwater?

    And, the hive order... well, we can't do anything about that...

    Refinery was darker than that :| The hive is nicely camoed againist the infestation though and i had trouble seeing it as the big cylinder things do block a lot of the line of sight.

    Try deleting all the hive entities and recreating them in the 'right' order.

    Just for added authenticity...

    And to make the 2.0 people not feel like it's such an unfamiliar map like how the new hera feels.

    And I don't know why, but as I said, I looked at your pictures, noticed the beauty of the map, and then noticed the oddness of the hive order, lol... Wow, i've played too many games there for sure.

    Did there used to be a ladder there? It looks really out of place... that doesn't seem like a place where there really should be a ladder... and especially not like a pool one... lol...

    Refinery Hive looks so sexy.
    That was always my favorite place in that map...
    Well, except for that cave in feedwater...
    ... And the rest of the map.
    I think the only place I really <i>didn't</i> like was the little ComChair pod thing... it was so stupid, and encouraged you to either do a bonsai base, or to put some turrets up there, and yeah.....
    I hope the command chair is being moved, or at least that little thing is being fixed to be a bit better.

    Oh. Back to refinery...

    The fact that I know how it used to look just makes the infestation look so much sweeter. I see it, and it's like "What the hell happened while we were gone! We must exterminate the kaharaa!" Y'know? lol...

    It's like we left for a year, came back, and all the infestation is abck, but even worse this time.
