And the change to the release of 2.0, 2.1, 1.04, 1.03, 1.02, 1.01 is......? History repeats itself ladies & gentlemen, the whiners will play, adapt or quit, and NS will continue to grow. I can't wait to try 3.0, and I'm personally quite glad I didn't clan to get Vet (and I've had plenty of chances) because I'm looking forward to trying it to give a fresh perspective that hasn't been through x number of revisions.
Kudos as always to Flayra, Max & everyone else involved, I'm looking forward to continue hosting, playing and being a part of the community. GG NS 2.01, let's roll.
I do not know amerika in detail. today(24) is saturaday? thats weekend? If today is a weekend, is 3beta released today? It is 23:23 on the 24th here now.
I think alot of players will be glad to test the beta. And i'm sure many servers won't switch over straight away, so you will still be able to play 2.01.
The 2.01 Betas didn't exactely alienate the audience, either. Public Betas are nothing new, the 'average' gamer has grown long used to it, so I doubt either will be a problem. Will we get a few dozen "OMG NS sux!!11" posts a day? Undoubtely, but a dozen idiots aren't representative for the 'average' gamer in any way.
All i'm concerned about is how are you going to gauge how balanced/fun ns is on publics servers if the forums are going to be spammed with such stated posts?

I just hope the established community will hold off with balance for a week or two, until we get used to the changes.
I'll let you in on a secret : Flayra makes 95% of the beta decisions by himself. Maybe Hambone and other real pts help, but us cm's don't do much. We report bugs, yes, and have long discussions about things which Flay takes a look at now and then. But I doubt flay would waste his time looking through every post on the general board.

Does anyone know of a mod called "Hostile Intent"?\
How are you supposed to balance a game in beta when each change you make is in fear of people hating your game?
I'd really like to know how you think that 3.0 is "terribly bad or unbalanced." Yes, it's far from perfect, but bugs aside, and they seem to be largely resolved by now, I don't see what you see as so dramatically wrong.
And no, I do not doubt that marines might be stronger right now. I'm just stating the the 'average gamer', who has never played 3.0 before, won't really be affected by that from the word go.

Question : Do they drop like flies if in Umbra while being healsprayed? Teamwork is meant to be essential to both teams, just many don't seem to accept it.

Let me tell you, heavy trains are INCREDIBLY hard to stop in regular NS in 3.0. No longer can you just rely on stomp to own 10 HA's at once.
Also, if they have umbra, you don't even need a GL to kill the onos if you have enough HMG's. It literally takes about 2-3 seconds of one HMG with non-stop firing to kill an onos.
- an "hive 2" onos has 700hp and 400 armor (equaling 1000hp) = 1700hp - an lvl1 an hmg does ~20 points of damage (19.8) x 125 bullets = 2500 damage - an onos regenerates about 90hp per tick
onos will win cause the la will never be able to empty his clip before he is dead.
umbra triples the hitpoints resulting in 5100hp. each regen tick heals now 270hp per tick.
this way 2 heavy armors or light armor marines will never be able to kill an umbraed onos. even if they both unload thei full hmg and pistol clip. its just regenerates too much. the onos just has to kill both before they finished reloading their hmgs.

Well then will there be any locked constellation servers?
And ill take it down after everyone calms down about 3.0.
