    Yeah, I'm not that much of a fan of customizing. Takes away from the NS-y feel in my opinion. But, well, it's your rules, I just thought this topic could be kinda like a "stock-photo" topic where people can get pics from in-game to use in artwork (promotional banners, ads, background images, etc).

    You can still use default models, and thats the way it as at first, but then there are so many good models out there, you know? At first, tis was for default models only. You look back you'll see some good pictures. Should we go back to the old default models rule?

    I think we ought to, the aliens movies have a different appearance and feel than that of NS. its NS photography for a reason, this should be showing the atmosphere of this mod, not a different movie.

    Ok you've convinced me. Default models only again. All of the old rules still apply. Anyone taking any pictures?

    This was alive til the forums went down. I love this thread and i thought if anyone was interested we could get some combat photography back on here.

    This pic isn't that great but i wanted to try and get something up. I like how in this picture the teammates shotgun is going off and you can see on the onos that he scored a direct hit.

    Nice!

    Can you point me to the toolkit? I'd love to start in with this <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    read the instructions on the first post. the photographers toolkit removes all of the hud icons AND your weapon model. be sure to back up your files.

    I gave the Photographers Toolkit a try again and I was reminded of how fun it is to do this. Anyways, i took a lot of pictures but i only cared for this one. I like it because it shows a lot of destruction, but through the shiny glimmer of creation. Sort of interesting.

    I took this one during a big combat battle and i really liked how the marine is positioned and the glow of his muzzle flare.

    I haven't had time to take any of my own but I thought i'd dig this up...
    <a href='http://www.yoyoyoyoyo.com/oldindex.html' target='_blank'>old HAM website</a> remember HAM? no? well you should. Just give the website a moment to load. I'm pretty sure the shots were taken with the *free chase camera mode, unfourtunetly, as mentioned before that feature was taken out.

    those are pretty good actually. none of them have hud icons either. they knew what was up.

    ok I have to admit that I "bent" the rules little bit. but honestly: who does care? we know ns, we love ns, nothing more. lets crack the rules <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    <img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/centercross/artwork/ns_source_hide.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    title: "there is something"
    thats pretty much cheating in here because its a shot of my freshly released map ns_source. I took a while till we found this bug. but take a look at the picture carefully: WHAT is wrong here?

    <img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/centercross/artwork/way.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    random shot, marines moving out.

    <img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/centercross/artwork/ns_greian_moment_of_death.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    title: "feel the onos... INSIDE!"
    very "cruel" shot on the map ns_greian. after an relocate we got smashed by an onos and some fades. this marine couldnt get far. changed to B/W style because of the "shock effect" <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    <img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/centercross/artwork/promo0005.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    title: "before tsa arrival"
    cheating no.2 - a map consisting ONLY of this hiveroom. made in about 25 minutes when I got bord on a lan. look at those steam all over the place.

    <img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/centercross/artwork/gotowork_small.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    title: "get things moving"
    might even be a ns1.04 shot. we werent shure to open this door. but we did. and guess: it wasnt a good idea. sorry for custommodel but I like this picture very much. edited appearance to get more depth.

    <img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/centercross/artwork/beirut.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    title: "another nice day in beirut"
    last stand at d-res on veil. the commander builded a wall out of cc´s (on both entrances) to prevent onos from getting in. result had been a 40 minutes bloodfight, one of the best matches I ever had.

    <img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/centercross/artwork/ontheway.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    title: "out of nowhere"
    nice picture I took in my early ns days. the custommodel looks quite nice in the light. I like the perspektive from the floor. and of coure this picture was an "accident" .

    <img src='http://mitglied.lycos.de/centercross/artwork/2much.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
    title: "rest in peace..."
    cheating no.3 - another shot of the ns_source "crew quaretrs" but in VERY EARLY stage, the dead marinemodel had been edited by me but unfortunately I had to remove it. why? read the mapping guidelines <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    and even ifthis pictures hurt the rules: Im shure you enjoyed them as much as I did. and remember: this pictures are like holiday pictures, you have many important memories connected with them.

    I dont know why you think it's ok to break the rules of a thread I started.. i like your TSA arrival picture but other than that, you've spruced up boring pictures with contrast and blur effects. Please dont break the rules.

    There is a cloaked skulk in the water. Cloaking isnt 100% transparent though, so you can't see the water through him(HL engine problem)-.
  • BulletHeadBulletHead Join Date: 2004-07-22 Member: 30049Members
    Ah, I didn't realize it was cloaked XD
