    The point is we are giving suggestions. I am not saying they MUST do what i say, I even said they are free to disregard everything I said. I was merely throwing my thoughts into the ring, to make them think and to try to make sure that this pack is the best it can be.

    If I could help, I would. But I have no clue how to model or skin, and so the best help I can give is merely my mind.

    Ahhh christ. Look - Natural Selection is not Mario - the same goes for the opposite.

    Being such, <i>there will be no Mario reference that will be a perfect match for anything in the Natural selection Universe</i>; artistic license has been used IN ORDER to get rid of that problem.



    So just take a step back, chill, and let the people who are working on such a fine set of models do what they do best.

    I was thinking the same thing... I don't think they would lock it... I mean it's 43 pages long!
    I at least think they would give us a warning before actually locking it.

    Now on to the replying...

    Dubbilex, just because they are different games, and there may not be a perfect match, I still think they should try to fit to the theme of the thing... Unless you are talking about the koopas walking on walls arguement...

    Yes, they have artistic licsence(sp)... and seeing as they are artists, I suggested they make modifications based on the superscope and light pistol for the other weapons to help keep a theme going with the guns.

    A gamecube GL and a vaccum just don't seem to fit with a superscope and light pistol.

    Anyways, actual progress report: did the acidrocket, compiled it, tested it. It works. I've got an IG screenie (the rocked was compiled additive because it's a magic spell type doodad). And btw... theres over 120K epolies in that screenie. The whole tanith hallway was filled with elec tfacs, ccs and a chunk was filled with seiges.

    Anyway I would like a decision made by the whole team if possible (and I am sure many people would too) on everything ,but since CoolCookieCooks is the guy who came up with it then we should wait for his response to this things and anyway we should do a poll on who think what for the models and (of course) pick the models most voted for as the Models for the Pack. But since it is not my pack I am merely suggesting.

    FPS was 33 as opposed to the usual 100. And HL was fine <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->. And as for the choice of model, this one goes with magikoopa.

    cool acid rocket model. anyways heres a bullet bill for whatever use. ill probably make the shooter thing hollow and add a bullet thing sticking out later.

    try doing the smoothing groups in ms3d zwing and take a screenie from there.

    The tip of bullet bills are shorter than the one you modelled. Try making it shorter and making the straight section of the bullet longer. Right now, it looks more like a real bullet rather than a bullet bill.

    Also, as Cookie said, you should mess around with the smoothing groups in your model. Right now, it looks like the whole model is set to one smoothing group.

    the smoothing groups might be done, its just the fact that lithunwrap 1.3 doesnt support smoothing groups

    The thing about "renders" from Ms3d is that you cant actually see how the model really looks like with details etc and thats why you need 3dsmax to render.

    EDIT: Also the models from the "renders" from ms3d looks ugly because they aint really rendered but its a good tool to model.

    You should connect the two legs of the bullet bill launcher thing.

    in game that part looks way solider then how your model appears, and i tend to think that the legs are connected.

    (just add ina box right below where after where it slants out a bit and gets larger, the flat part)

    edit: In fact, right where the plane is would be a great place for the top of the box, and about exactly where I mean.

    Do bile bomb and acid rocket still use the same model?

    And isn't majikoopa's magic thing supposed to have the shapes overlapping and spinning?

    And if you're a fade, can you tell the shape of the stuff, or does it just look like a couple lines due to the angle?

    I think the bullet bill and launcher look nice to me. Who cares if it doesn't have arms, because you don't even see the siege shooting a bullet out anyway.

    Actually.. the bullet bills firing out of the cannon could be made to be part of the firing animations. They could come out of the cannon really fast and dissapear somewhere along the firing line.

    Yes, BB and AR use the same model (magical gorges too i guess). And yes, that thing should spin, but the AR model doesn't have a sequence (unless you can animate the idle sequence, in which case I will).
