It would be cool if fileplanet started using BT, doubt they will cause they wouldnt get advertising revenue <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I've already seen the basic movie, I don't need to download 5 more videos of slightly-upped quality each time... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
But yeah, if it's that important to you, wait in line with fileplanet. Urgh.
EDIT: Im trying ONE MORE TIME this time without a filemanager.
You want the link?

It's <b>saving </b>them bandwidth, you don't have to wait in line and Gamespy are just flexing their legal muscles over absolutely nothing. They're just being complete idiots about this.... It has their blastard logo in the video if all they're worried about is plagarism.... idiots...
Yes, I'm sure a lot of effort went into poorly encoding a video at 2 times the size it should be and slapping their logo on the bottom right corner. Clap clap Gamespy.
Enjoy the link people. It has about 40 seeds and 3000 leechers at time of post. So it should give you a nice fast speed.
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Iam so anoyed with you fileplanet get rid of the bloody cut off system NOW.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
There is no cut-off system. I haven't used their download control because it was eating 100% CPU on my computer and all my downloads have worked just fine.

subscriber due to the vasts amounts of video's, demo's
and patches I download.
Are they still doing Raven Shield for free when you subscribe?
And how has the service been CForrester? Had any difficulties?
Tech Support? Mirrors been nice and fast? Lots of Beta offers?
I'm uploading at 20k (25max) but im only getting like 0.7download 50kmax <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Yeh I'v been thinking about getting a subscription mainly cause the dollar is really cheap right now.

If you download a lot of files, it's worth it. Especially come times like this, when something big comes out - or a lot of big things <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> I got Splinter Cell for free when I got my subscription, and I believe Raven Shield is still the offer now.
I downloaded this 700 meg video at an average speed of about 380 k/sec with no wait time <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Never had problems with the mirrors, though my connection is capped at 40 KBPS down at the moment. :/
Some nice beta stuff going around, yeah. They haven't really interested me, though.
Those Zombie screams were freaky! O_O'
Is it just me or are the Half-Life 2 graphics not as impressive as they used to be?
£45 GBP. for a yearly account. Raven Shield for free.
Hmmmm
EDIT: I have to pay TAX on top of that!?!?
$94 = £53 GBP
Yeah... It sucked. The whole "no waiting in line" is a crock of crap false advertising to pull you in.
Anyway, enough of that. Lets get this thread back on track:
To those who saw the smaller crappy video, this one is twice as long, in high res, very detailed, and OMG OMG OMG is it pwn. This video has pretty much gotten me almost as hyped for HL2 as I was at this time last year, which considering how "meh" I was only 3 days ago, that's quite a feat.
Also, I retract my previous statements about HL2's lighting being "the ultra suck". It is now "wow that's nice, if only it were completely dynamic like STALKER and DOOM III, but hot damn its nice!"
Also, if you don't get this 700mb video, at least get the CS: Source video. I don't care if you hate CS. I hate CS too. But it gives you a great idea of how multiplayer mods can be, and its very very sexy. There is an explosion w/ a bunch of barrels flying due to the physics engine, and its teh uber pwn.

Were you clicking on the subscriber-only links up top? Or logged in? I've never had to wait longer than the time it takes to select the download location.

Taken from <a href='http://www.hl2grounds.net' target='_blank'>HL2G.net</a> (my news site <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> )
Good Luck!
As far as I can tell, HL2 uses a wide range of lighting modes that scale to give you the most bang for your buck. When they want, they can have lights that light up characters with what almost looks like real time radiosity and shadowing. And when they want to spend your cycles on massive action scenes instead of shadows, they can switch to just having projected stencil shadows.
And the general world geometry lighting is pretty darn boss as well: very high quality and complex, with automatic HDR effects to simulate wider color ranges without having to dull out the contrast.
Nevermind, i was able to get Opera to open it using the old way.
The FP DL is now frighteningly close to starting (only half an hour!), and the torrent is chugging along at a steady 5-10 kpbs.
