a) Nice textures...look good... b) Working on any digital art (brushes, textures, light/colour/texture schemes) prior to that start date is 1. Unfair - why should you get more time to work on it? 2. Forbidden in the rules - BlackPlague specifically said no work on the actual map was to be done. 3. Just plain deceptive - fair go guys! c) BlackPlague - I don't know how you plan to approach this or regulate any future breaches of the rules - all I know is that if you delay the start date any longer, you are going to have more and more people breaking these rules - we can't wait anymore...
All sounds very serious but making mappers wait for anything (especially compiles and screenshots) is a dangerous game. I'm sure the texture thing was very innocent (or not) but technically it isn't allowed...neither is mendasp (<!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->) and his style/theme tests. I mean, I could have half the map layed out and brushed by now by myself let alone with a team - would that be fair? I think not..

If you want to learn to map, then don't try to set up a contest just so that several people send you rmfs. Read some tutorials, google and 30 seconds of effort should find you dozens of tutorials for hl level design.

hah yeah, this is an option when you enter your map in. you can include max 20 screenies in the zip file of your map and this way i dont have so many pics flying around in teh forums lol... is anyone in here interested in hosting the zip files for the contest? not now, but when the contest is over =) if you are please pm me.

ok guys, need an update on where you guys are right now.. by now you SHOULD be putting the layout together and kinda figurin out which textures your going to use! yay
Well after discussion with my team... We will be withdrawing for now to work on our NS map. Sorry guys. When we finish we will make a combat map from it and we might enter that if allowed. So Team 3 is out of the contest. Sorry.
