thanks to those who like my skin so far. ps, i've been at an amusement park all day, so i couldnt update anything. And tommorow is our 4th of july slash my birthday party so i wont be able to do much on it either. But again thanks for all the comments, glad to see people like my stuff.
hmm, could someone help me out on this. the setting up of layers. ive heard of diff ways but i make the skinmesh layer on screen and put everything under it. is there a better way?
edit to avoid another double: well ive redone the little of what i had... looks better imo. i like camo, if you dont then eh, yeah i know ns doesnt need camo inside but it looks cool i think. so, am i going bout in the right direction now?
@BAshh - ty for your C&C. If I can't figure out how to effectively skin the receiver, I'll just give you the mag skin.
@Fatal - Remove the camo. It's not that the people dont like camo, it's just that you are making that part of the skin just a camo pattern, without adding highlighting/shadowing and details. Skin it a just metal first, putting in all the details, then put that camo pattern over it, with the blending layer as overlay or softlight. Will look 1000x better.

yes, as much as i dont want it camo-ized, skin it normally, then add camoness. (no i'm not telling you you cant have it in camo, i just think it takes away from the skin.)
I've only ever textured cars before [for a defunct mod for F1 2002], so I figured I'd try this out since I've never skinned a weapon model. Dunno if I'll finish it, and I'm learning as I go along.
