i'm not too big a fan of console RPGs, but one thing I did like about the FF series -- the cinematics in FF8. i used to think Blizzard had the best in game movies, until I saw what squaresoft came up with. even the first few movies in the game were extraordinarily good, and the Sorcerous Assassination arc was gold. my only problem w/ the game is due to a pet-peeve of mine, dialogue. SquareSoft should have hired a professional writer to translate the scripts, even I could've done a better job then what they have. eventually, i got so frustrated with the clique and pathetically boring plot that I ditched the game.
another thing that bugs me about the FF series are the random battles. just the concept alone should bugs me, nevermind that nearly every RPG ever made has them. chrono trigger proved (very very successfully) that console RPGs don't need random battles to be successful, so why are they always used? mmm. food for thought.

FF12 news, here is some info about the different races in the game:
Seeq - They are looking like pigs but they are very good soldiers.
Moogle - Moogle have been in many FF games before, and now, for some reason, the cute moogle's are mechanic's. Many FF fans are very disappointed about thier jobs, new look and body.
Bangaa - Bangaa are derive from reptiles. They can live about dubbel time longer as a normal human. They run very fast but they are not clever at all.
Viera - They are from the forests and they are very tall and thin. They can live about 3 times longer then a normal human. They have very powerful eyes and ears, they can hear sounds from 1 mile distance. Some of them like humans and often married with humans. But they are not popular.
Hume - Very likely human race, but not exactly.

Petco
Sorry to say it but i hate FF11.
I dont see any FF spirit in and its MMORPG, juck.
btw, what lvl are on?
FF6 was meh, because (unfortunately for me, i suppose) i'd played and finished Tales of Phantasia before it..
and that game is just... well.. you know, if you've played it.

you FINISHED that, good god, im still stuck at that stupid elf forest with all the status changing guys.
6 was indeed a very great game, i still play it, even today!
7 was very good, used to own it and still know a addict.
8's card game was the coolest but i found the game was too long, very good "more hotdogs anyone "
9 looked like everyone was a little kid, cept maybe stiner who was a fruit anyway, but the little black mage, the best.
Couldn't agree more. I actually liked 8 but regardless, the cinematics were hot. And the sorceress assassination part...wow.

8 played horribly, and set a new standard for bad dialogue even amongst the FF series. It was mediocre at best :/

There was a pretty good storyline if you looked past some of the..more retarded aspects.
The release of FF7:AC - 2004/10/17 (USA)

Also, I found 2 new pictures of FF7:AC:
