as of right now, cnn says that bush is up ~100,000 in Ohio - and since Ohio is all that counts right now... New Mexico and Iowa are just icing on the cake.
Basically, kerry would have to win ~80% of the absentee ballot in Ohio to take this election. If I were a democrate, things would be looking kinda grim right about now - but then there is always the ace-in-the-hole... sue the crap out of the opposition!

Dorian Gray has pretty much summed up why I hate George Bush. I've spoken to a lot of U.S. Marines (my cousin was there) and most of them are thinking "Why the hell are we here, standing around getting shot at? Why am I still here?" That's not a direct quote, and keep in mind I've only written to about 20, but I trust it a lot more than CNN.
Anyways, to Marine01, you listed the reasons you love Bush... that is terrifying. You want to interfere with civil rights based on a religion. Hmm... that sounds kind of like, you know, one of those Middle Eastern nations ruled by Islamic extremists. Not yet, but with that kind of thinking we're getting there. Religion has no place in modern politics; it's probably caused as many wars as territory.
Also, to whoever was saying that liberals think Bush is the worst leader in the world, worse than those that you mentioned. You're wrong. He is the worst leader in the free world with this kind of POWER. Potential to do some serious damage to everyone, unlike Saddam and his weak country.

It's actually brilliant politically. He is painted as doing what is best for America and getting the election over with quickly. He looks like a peacemaker and a patriot, and has the chance to run again in 2008.
It isn't like he spent any of his own money either...
Although I would really like Kerry to win, continuing fight on will make all the democrats look like a hypocrit when Bush is definitely getting the popular vote.
However, if that happens (Kerry win electoral, Bush win popular), it will be such a sweet irony.

It seems to me, that all Bush went on about was terrorists and terrorism. What the hell do people see in this guy? What do they want, a father figure who will protect them from global terrorism (something that has few actual roots in reality)?
Terrorism seems to be top of his agenda, but here's an interesting fact: there is far less international terrorist attacks now than in the last 20 years (National Geographic). Yet only now is anyone making a huge deal about it.
Although different countries have slightly different definitions of terrorism, one thing is obvious- the purpose of terrorism is to scare people into doing/not doing something. So with the alert level going up and down and the goevernment ceaselessly ranting about it, they themselves are being the terrorists.

So, nice work all you evangelical Christians and uneducated fools, you voted for a fool. Now America and the rest of the world will pay the price. Go on, stand behind your fascist leader, fight back the "Axis of Evil", chase after things that don't exist.

Judging from your avatar I'm assuming you're a communist or socialist. You've also made it painfull obvious you're an atheist. You wouldn't happen to be one of those guys who doesn't label good or evil on thing either would you? The fact of the matter is some christians are uneductated and some aren't. Lumping all in one blob is like saying ALL AFRICAN AMERICANS STEAL STUFF. And speaking of chasing things that don't exist. How bout that utopian society of communism eh? In all honesty there's a better chance of some guy in the sky creating us then there is of that society ever functioning successfully.
Now if you're not a communist/socialist I apologize. You just gave off a very good impression of being one
You do realize that the way the economy is going right now, it predicted a Bush victory?
I'm glad that Kerry lost. First off I think it's hilarious that for the past 6 months I've heard nothing but banal shrivel from the liberal media and they can't even get America to change its mind. The mighty have fallen, and Kerry is giving his concession speech in about forty minutes. (1 PM EST). It's over. For everyone.
The end of the world draws near, and I can't think of doing anything other than laugh my **** off.

p.s. I'm from Massachusetts, and before someone makes a crack about 'supporting the hometown players' I can tell you that Kerry was a nobody before the presidential race.

Bush has YET to not sign a spending bill put on his desk, paying for missions to mars, an untested missle deense system that would only keep Intercontintal missles from hitting us (and it is untested) as well as many tax cuts and eliminations during WAR. You don't spend money during war, you don't give tax cuts, anyone that has had a few courses in economics and can grasp the concept knows that. Instead, you save that money for the costs of the war, which in this case, was to rebuild a SECOND country before we were even sure the FIRST one was done. He rushed troops to war, not giving them enough time to supply them with neccesary camoflauge for the combat, or in a lot of cases, protective armor inserts to help stop or slow down the rounds commonly used by the Iraqi Military. Don't forget that this war ended months ago through the "Shock and Awe" campaign (Similar in concept to Blitzkreig) yet we have lost more soldiers in this time to gurellia attacks and terrorist bombings than even during the war itself. I let my voice be heard when I went to vote, despite feeling incredibly disenfranchised from the whole process. Kerry lost, Bush has won, and I personally don't see a change in the way his administration will handle domestic and foregin policies, or try and keep the government deficit from going lower.
Remember, welfare, Social Security, disable benefits come from the government, if they don't have the money to pay for it, many people that need it will be left in the could, struggling to survive.

Woot, Woot! for Bush...It feels good to win, feels better to win by a majority, and feels really good to be voted in by more people than any other president. I have a feeling he'll let loose a little this time around - now that he doesn't have to calculate every political move.
Anyway, it will be an exciting 4 years

Yup. certainly falling through the floor.

(n.b. I'm 17 shut your trap about who i did and didn't vote for, if I were 18 I wouldn't have voted for either crackhead)
p.s. I'm from Massachusetts, and before someone makes a crack about 'supporting the hometown players' I can tell you that Kerry was a nobody before the presidential race.

Numbers from the stock market are really nice, it shows how well the people that can actually afford to buy stocks are doing. I on the other hand are more concerned about health insurance, car insurance, the steeply raising gas prices, and the money that is currently being poured into Iraq instead of here at home to TRUELY make us safer by further securing our ports and airports.
