Cs:s "zombies!"

I'm sure people have done this before. But if you havent, do this:

1) Start a server with as many max players as you can (20-40 is a nice number).
2) Set the bots so that they all join T or CT team (just make sure they're all on 1 team).
3) Set their difficulty to the highest.
4) Make sure they only use knife.
5) Start the game
6) type mp_autoteambalance 0 in console. (stops them switching to your team)
7) type bot_walk 1 in console. Bots walk until they see you. Then they run at you.
8) Join the opposite team you assigned to the bots.

Stay alive by any means necessary. Stock up on guns, ammo, grenades, nightvision, everything. Fight for your life.

It best to do this by yourself or with another player. Three players work, but it gets easy.

These new CS:S bots are by far the best for this kind of a game, they are supersmart, travel in packs, and tear you apart. Great fun.


My FPS was hit pretty bad, but my videocard sucks.

Anyone want to set up a server for this? One that can handle a large number of bots.

    Normally i pump out about 40-50 fps on office. I turn on 8 bots and it drops to 15.

    Well if you just skin one certain side as a zombie, you've got your zombie mod right there. Just make the knife model so the player model holds out his hands all zombie like and you're done.. heh.

    Well HL2 includes a zombie model (just take the headcrab off the headcrab zombie: he already detaches) but I'm sure Zombie Panic: Source will satisfy all our zombie needs.

    Those CT corpses kinda remind me of RE2 zombies...Maybe I should break out the Ravenholm textures and make a map...or something.


    Coincidently, I've got a fy_pool_day...something on my computer, and it seems the bot AI is generated for new maps, seemingly without nodes, so ...any map could work pretty good for this.

    However, glassfloor_kdr didn't generate bot pathing.

    Maybe there's something you need to do to make it generate the paths <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> .

    Typing bot in the console and using the up and down arrows should alleviate any problems.


    bot_add - adds a bot to the team with fewest players
    bot_add_ct - adds a Counter Terrorist
    bot_add_t - adds a Terrorist
    bot_all_weapons [default: 1] - bots can use any weapon
    bot_knives_only[0] - bots only use knives
    bot_quota - defines the maximum number of bots (and combined with bot_quota_match, defines if bots will drop out of the game when humans join)
    bot_pistols_only [0] - bots only use pistols
    bot_snipers_only [0] - bots only use sniper rifles
    bot_walk [0] - bots walk until they see the player
    bot_zombie [0] - [bots do nothing]
    mp_autoteambalance [1] - if nonzero, teams will be balanced

    Even with all my settings on the lowest, I get 10fps in battle. And I have the 6800 GT <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Maybe its becase my crappy cpu...

    wow just played this with anarki... it is amazingly fun... the cs:s ai is awesome.. he and i tried hiding up on some boxes and they managed to figure out how to jump up there... didnt kill us of course.. the only times they killed us is when we decided to rambo into a bomb site and one of the zombies would jump out from behind a box he was hiding behind and stab us in the back....

    i can see myself doing this for quite a while...

    wish my comp could handle more than 20 bots.. even then its a bit choppy

    K the dedicated is back up, with high player numbers you might have to play pistols only to make it not to easy. Don't join if there is already several human players, you risk crashing the server (you can tell how many humans there are by the fact that there is exactly 21 bots)

    The crew of Half Life 2: Hold Out has been doing this for awile. It's insanely fun.
