Bah. I was showing how the new one is an attempt at a pre-riced POS, compared to how a Mustang *should* look. The prior comment was at Flint for posting a pic of a car he just liked.

Ahh, enough of the cars! Seeing as I'm limited to what the UK's licensing people say I can ride, Here's a piccy of my ride (Ride in the literal sense) (BTW this has been taken from the SYM website, as I can't be arsed to upload a piccy via PSDN)
And here's the official line on it... (Again, quoth the SYM website...)
Joyride 125
pleasure tripper
Equally as impressive as its bigger brother the 125 has the proven four valve engine that is frugal yet smooth and powerful. Badged as a ‘Laverda’ in Italy, the Joyride has got be good!

Also chuckling at the whole concept of VTEC, given that it's just a set of slip-pins that lock into place at 3000 rpms, and alter your cam timing for better mid-range power. Which can be done more efficiently with a dynamic tuning rig, adjusting the cams on the fly. You don't get the dramatic engine-goes-nuts effect... instead, you simply have that power through your entire curve.
An update on the Mirage swap. I've located a '90 Eclipse GS (Turbo), and the owner wants to sell it for a grand. I may be able to talk him down, as the turbo is frozen. But I was planning to go with a 16 or 20g turbo anyway. Just not this soon. :b Also, it has 'clutch problems', as one of his friends installed a new clutch... apparently a performance part. But it has problems going into first now, most likely due to the clutch not disengaging fully. I suspect that the friend either misaligned the gap on it (difficult, given it still runs), or simply didn't FULLY bleed the clutch line. So there's air in it, preventing the upgraded clutch (ACT 2100 or 2600 most likely) from fully disengaging, given the stiffer splines. From what the owner said, it'll burn oil for a quart or so after an oil change, then stop. This is weird, and leads me to think he might not have a clue. No leaks from engine or tranny, if he's not fibbing. Also, the power steering system may have a minor leak... not a problem, given that the steering stuff will be staying in the Eclipse, which I may sell off as a project car.

Donor car obtained. Looking this good, it's almost a shame that the chassis is headed for the junkheap. Hopefully I'll be able to find someone who wants to build their own Eclipse, and/or just needs a body, cheap.
Known down sides: Turbo is frozen (was going to be replaced anyway) Clutch master/slave needs replacement BADLY Power steering pump leaking (onto alternator, fix or swap ASAP) Front motor mount blown (not used in swap) Minor oil leak/seep from cam cover
Down sides only now noted: Engine is giving out white smoke both from the exhaust, as well as just under the cam cover for some reason. Compression/leakdown test came back with an ungodly 2% leakage (new cars usually have between 3-6%, and this is 15 years old!) except on the #3 cylinder, which had a 6-8% leak, as well as weak compression. Assuming that the head gasket has ruptured to the edge (instead of another cylinder), minor and easy fix. I'm wondering how the hell he got it to pass smog. But it's on record. Hopefully it wasn't just a hookup.
@Talesin: You remind me of my younger "gearhead" days, when I had 2 older Corvettes and wrecked them both. Speed kills!
Slightly off topic: DO Europeans get to watch the Daytona 500 on TV? Or is there no interest in NASCAR outside of the U.S? It's on tv now ...

The difference is, my Mirage'll be showing Corvettes the back bumper, once this is all taken care of. But y'know... live fast, die young, and leave a fine mist.

I had an eclipse too. But thanks to some considerable flooding, the chassis rusted all to hell and I didn't notice it until one day when I hit a pothole and the muffler fell off.
Sold it to the auto-body guy for $900. Currently carless.
