You don't write games for a platform where there aren't gamers, and gamers won't use a platform where there aren't games. This is slowly changing thanks to some companies throwing the Mac gamers a bone, but it will take time.
<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> I don't <i>hate</i> macs, I just dislike them, mainly because MacOS<10 are so horrible that Derek Smart games compare favourably to them in terms of interface design and stability.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> Well, I personally loved OS 7-9, at least in terms of usability. It will blow your mind with how simple it is. Ok, so maybe most people aren't really all that impressed by that, but I find myself wishing that Windows (or especially Linux) would make it that easy to manage apps.
If you're a windows user, there are some thigns that will seem very odd to you at first. For instance, Mac applications do not have a menubar in the window, the menubar of the currently selected application is always at the top of the screen. This is because of Fittz's law, a useability principle which states that the bigger something is, and the closer it is to the current mouse position, the easier it is to hit and thus the faster it is to use. Items on the edge of the screen have an effectively infinite size (in one direction, corners have infinite size in 2), therefore it is easier and faster to hit a menu option at the top of the screen then it is to hit the same menu option in a window (but its even faster to hit a menu option in a context menu, Risc OS is the only OS I know of that mandated that all menus be context menus). Unfortunatly, Apple did violate some of their own usability standards, I won't go into detail though, since as a windows user you would be used to poor usability standards <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I don't <i>hate</i> macs, I just dislike them, mainly because MacOS<10 are so horrible that Derek Smart games compare favourably to them in terms of interface design and stability. I haven't actually tried OSX, but I like what I've seen of it so far.
/me looks at Doom 3, Quake 3, WoW, UT2k4, BF 1942, Call of Duty, Neverwinter Nites, Homeworld, Splinter Cell, MoH, CnC Generals, and more.
It's taking off as a gaming platform, it's just that PC's currently dominate the market.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
So yes, Games by Id, Epic and Blizzard and one or two by some other company. This is not new. Tell us when the mac actually gets a decent amount of games, we'll be waiting.

Its a chicken and egg problem, as it has been since Windows began to dominate the home market. You don't write games for a platform where there aren't gamers, and gamers won't use a platform where there aren't games. This is slowly changing thanks to some companies throwing the Mac gamers a bone, but it will take time.

Well, I personally loved OS 7-9, at least in terms of usability. They were unstable as all hell though.

Install an application, then move it to annother directory.
