    Don't mean to spoil the party but i believe when far cry was meant to be jurrasic park it was meants to be you (jack fella) killing dinos not other way but still nice idea to have it other way, there is in fact a game where you can play as jaws not sure about it other than it lurking out there

Dunno... it started off good but I got so bored of unavoidable imp traps (open door; IMP!, grab item; IMP!, breathe; IMP!) that I just stopped playing.
    There's nothing fun about having health arbitrailarly stripped from you just because they think it might be scary. In a straight fight imps weren't annoying because you could dodge them and stuff but half the imp encounters were just scripted in such a way that even if you did know they were coming they'd auto-hit you regardless of what you do to try and activate whatever triggers them (especially opening doors). <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
    And then you play it on Nighmare mode, and discover that autohit = you die. So then you actually have to figure out how to avoid being autohit at each and every trap. So I can tell you that it is indeed possible, but it can get frustrating at times. Usually you have to rig it so that when an Imp leaps at you, he runs into a doorpost or something. Then you can step out and blast him.

    I think the single most frustrating moment in Doom3 was trying to pass one door which was trapped with a mutant--as soon as you opened the door, he would run out and slap you with that tentacle thing, which was a 1-hit kill on Nightmare, and it was virtually impossible to avoid. It must have taken me at least 30 game loads to get past him.

    Aha, so you have to exploit the poor AI to win. Sounds like fun...

    Best console game at that. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
    Not to derail my very own thread or anything, but I just got this game today, and so far, yes. Yes it is. Omg. O... m... g...

    If you have a Gamecube, get it... Just... Damn...

    Not exactly...the AI only comes into play after the scripted actions finish. And the scripted actions are usually more dangerous--except of course, being scripted, they are the same every time, so you can eventually figure out how to defeat them.

    Of course, you could make a very similar point about scripted actions, I suppose...
