And My God, it rocks.
You thought it was good before? Just wait till you play with the ranking system. Its like a huge MMO...but cooler. The vehicles feel better, hell, EVERYTHING is better. My only beef is that with 64 players, any server lags. A lot.
BTW, Strike at Karkland is a scary map, with how dusty it is. You can't see 50 feet in front of you, and everything has a hazy look. I remember a point I was hiding behind a wall near a cap point, my whole body shaking, because there was a tank on the other side of the wall. My God, I was actually scared. IN AN ACTION GAME. I remember thinking to myself, "Woah, this is it."- and note that I'm playing on super-low graphics settings.
The new king has ARRIVED!

Incorrect. Its at the end of every round.
Try non-64 player servers. Those work great, as I was just playing on one for a long time. Almost PFC!
GTA came first.
I didn't even remember ordering BF2 until I read this thread. It's like GTA:SA was made just for me - it's everything I ever wanted in the series come to life.
I'll probably check out BF2 this weekend. My school recently changed the way that they handle packages at the mailroom, so it's a huge pain in the **** to pick anything up. It's been detering me from even checking if any more mail has arrived.
To be honest, I never really liked playing any of the other Battlefield games, DC included, with other people. Save for a few great LAN games of BF:V and the occasional DC romp with guys from my dorm floor, slaughtering bots in an A-10 has always been more satisfying than the clusterf*** that is Battlefield's online play. The spawncamp TKing for vehicles, awful lag, and general disorganization was just too much for me. Now, BF2 has improved on everything but the TKing (although you can turn FF off - it's always great fun to clusterbomb a friendly position just to eliminate a lone infantryman trying to ninja a CP), but my previous negative experiences still act as a deterant against testing my mettle online. My hope is that the ranking system will pull me onto some of the smaller servers.

Surprisingly TKing is rare on most servers, as it can actually lower your rank overall. You get just as many negative points for killing a team mate as you do positive for killing an enemy, in any way, shape, or form(unless commander with artillery).
Edit: Oh, that reminds me! CARBOMBS!
Allow me to elaborate. While I was mucking around with the demo this weekend, I tried covering every side of a Humvee (front, back, sides, and something top) with my five C4 charges and ramming it into clusters of bots. It was a bit tricky; bots would hop in and slow me down a bit, and I had to hop out and detonate the charges myself. I still managed to cause major damage. I could eliminate a tank before it even noticed I was there, and once took out the entire enemy team - both troop transports, their tank, and a few infantry on the ground. Great fun.
I think it would work out better to run it as a two-man job - one guy as a suicidal driver, and another guy to place and detonate the charges on the vehicle. The "trigger man" would sit in one of the back areas where he could detonate the carbomb while still in the vehicles, or could leap out just before the driver takes it into the target. A second guy on the trigger would allow the bomb to go off as soon as it needed to while the vehicle is still being maneuvered. Of course, you'd need to get at least two or three kills every time to make the TK worth it.
Pretty ticked off ATM, but it's great. My squad was best 3 rounds in a row!

I got 2 Anti-Tank and 2 Anti-Air rewards, the anti-air vehicle is sick. Fires explosive rounds from the main cannon and has a complement of heat seeking missiles, I had much fun driving that puppy around decimating all.
Play the game. Not the main interface.

Is it better in the final version? Because having my computer lock up if I want to play a game isn't fun.

I've never had any lockups with this version, and the lockups at interface for me in the demo were only a few times at first, and I suspect that was because of sound. None thus far though.
When it comes to unlocking things on the ground, once you get to the 3rd rank(which allows first unlock), it then allows you to choose(only once) what you want unlocked.
If so I demand screen shots as I can't get BF2 until this weekend.

Not here. its taking a HELL of a long time to get to the next rank. Level up scheme o.o
Okay, definitely not buying. It'd take me like 5 minutes to find the server I wanted to in the Demo with all the laggyness, and the filters didn't seem to work correctly. Oh, and no favorites.
