My squad was behind some sandbags while taking fire from an enemy vehicle's machinegun. One of our guys didn't quite make it, so I would revive him, and he would instantly die from machinegun fire. After about 4 or 5 times he finally made it behind the sandbags. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' />

Heh.

Some things I've learnt from this thread.

- BF2 has a ranking system almost identical to one I wrote last December (I wrote it for a game concept).

- I want BF2 more than passing my degree with a 2.1.

- GF4s work with BF2 but it ends up like Operation Flashlight with 64 player MP support.

EA needs to give out some promotions to people in its company that actually understand games.

I'm stuff with offline BF2 till roughly the 1st of October.

However, I don't care. Because even offline this game rocks.

I was playing on a ranked server last night - and apparently it had no effect on my rank? I usually had a positve score, despite my team losing almost every round, and I got some worthless 'river fortification' award. I went into BF2 HQ (or whatever) and could not see 1) any xp gained or 2) the award I got.

Also - for sniper - does anyone have the "shoot out reinforced glass" gun yet? If so - how long did it take you to get it? I want that mother real bad.

Also does anyone know if a sniper can also get some kind of a .50 cal or so - something would would penetrate armor?

I got 3 kills and died 12 times, but I was on the top of the scoreboard. That was a great feeling.

if you mean the barret 50cal yes its the unlockable for sniper, and yes it packs a nice punch

Figures.

I had a blast with the demo, so I get the game. the graphical glitches I have in so many games are back.

why the hell would my graphics look fine in the demo but look like this in the actual game? I've got a radeon 9600 pro, on the low end of the supported cards but supported, and yet, this... coupled with the packetloss on ranked servers, I only just opened the box and I'm regretting the purchase already.

check your settings, maybe somthing you have turned on is causing it. If you have those glitches in alot of games, maybe its time for a new card.

Medics are really good to team up with support. The 2 man team can feed each other health and ammo. If the medic dies, the support can drop his kit and pick up the medic one revive him and switch back.

Its a pretty good combination.

Also, anyone going competitive yet? I just joined Recon Syndicates
#r-syn on gamesurge.

They have been around for about 4 years, (I played CS with them about 3 1/2 years ago) They are worth checking out, if anyone here wants to play in CAL.

It has a effect, just give it a few hours. It doesn't update instantly at all. It'll send the info instantly, but the main thing doesn't update instantly.

Holy crap... there's this one map... I can't remember the name offhand.... (starts with Z, pretty much entirely urban cityscape across the whole map) AND IT ROCKS SO FRIGGING MUCH!

It's like hell on earth and you're right there in the middle of it... sandstorms, buildings on fire, artillery strikes, gunfire, and just general awesomeness!
