We captured two points and were working on our 3rd when a lucky artillery strike took two of us out - and I got shifted to the other team. (v.v)
Ahh well - no biggie. I got over 70 points that round because of all the healing I did. ^^
Or we could **** and moan at EA to make it so Autobalance switches Non-Squadded people first, then squad members, then squad leaders, then commanders. Not randomly.

Oh yeah, when fighting a sniper with a regular weapon, don't prone. It makes you a 10x easier shot to a proned sniper.
Of course most of what I said applies to the M24, since the SVD is crap from what I've seen. Oh man I can't wait to get the barret, finally I can go sniper as any force since I don't have to worry about being stuck with one of the crappy auto snipers.
I've been laying prone, not moving, shooting at a target that isn't moving, some of them even AFK, and about 1 out of every 40 shots will actually hit.
I was an awesome sniper at BF1942 and BF:V. I could properly anticipate how much to lead the target to get a headshot and everything. I mean really freakin good. But the sniper rifles in BF2 all suck. Anyone who says they can get kills w/ them and have it be anything but a fluke, I refuse to believe it w/o evidence. :X
the advanced weapons are TOO powerful against standard weapons

I played sniper like twice before giving it up. if I want to snipe someone, I just use my trusty medic unlock.
one thing about sniping, you can't just go prone, aim, and shoot right away; you have to wait a few seconds before the crosshair cone-of-fire thingy (that you can't see cuz you're zoomed) comes to the full center...
cone of fire is kinda silly and archaic - bullets obviously go in the direction your gun is pointing and toward the center of your scope. if they want to simulate loss of accuracy for automatic weapons, they should make your screen and gun move instead of your crosshairs just expanding outwards...
I honestly have no clue about bullet drop and whatnot. that's why I just use the medic gun for sniping - I can spray and pray (at a rate of like 1 shot per .75 second for max accuracy).

Well in real life, for most of the equipment in the game: 1 US > 10 MEC/China
However I think they did a good job of balancing things. If anything the MEC is overpowered slightly because of the AK and the giant cannon on the MEC chopper.

Oh man, just unlocked the barret last night. That gun is god. Only popped 1 person out of a chopper so far though... and he was friendly (how was I supposed to tell at that distance?). The bullet piercing glass doesn't seem to consistently work, I unloaded 6 rounds at a guy head who was in a blackhawk (I was shooting down at him, he was hovering below my hiding spot) and not 1 got through, oh well.
Only thing I hate about the barret I hate is the crosshairs for it are HORRIBLE. The lines for it are like 3x as thick then the M24, making it hard to line up a headshot from extreme ranges, since it's hard to tell where the dead center of the point is.
On that note, is there some way to add custom files? I really want to change those crosshairs...
It won't let me set 'shift' as my crouch key because it says 'shift' is already being used in the helicopter controls.. and no matter how hard I look I don't see 'shift' being used there <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Also, I am crying as Ive been stuck at my dads house for the past 4 days. <b>I must return to my Su-30.</b> Also, funnily enough, I havent gotten a bronze medal yet. Ive got tons of gold and a few silver, but I have yet to get a bronze... Anyway, I need to re-establish command of my Dorm room control point.
