A small tip: If you hit some one with the US/unlocked sniper but he didn't die, draw pistol and shoot him if he's in range (You have 2 points of health after been shot by a sniper).
has anyone posted chopper tips? I pwn at mobile warfare and I'm good at flying a bomber when there's no fighters to shoot me down, but when I fly a heli I'm just a flying missile magnet...
like, how do you know how to dodge fire? whether to go up or down, and in which direction... any tips good chopper pilots can think of...
I had dismissed helis as 'just not worth it' til today, when I was gunning for a SUPERB pilot. I got 2 ribbons in one game - crew service and heli service... I got 105 points as gunner, and we never got shot down once. when I fly, I get blasted like the first missile lock I hear, even after countermeasures...
I'm sure having a good gunner helps a lot... half the reason we didn't get shot down was probably me - I got more kills than the pilot :> I felt bad too, because the only reason I was able to do so well was his expert piloting... it's a lot easier to point and click for a TV missile launch than it is to know when to swoop, sway, climb, fall, stay still to line your gunner up, etc...

Then, start flying fast in that height. That should (or does for me at least) clear most of lock-ons. It´s a matter of getting to the ground quick, and it kinda depends on the situation. If hes too quick, no luck. Another very importent tip is that i might be one of few to think of is that, the heat-seeking lockons are locking on to the back of your chopper (mostly) wich means that if you turn your side to the enemy, it will actually be harder for him to hit you. Hitting a chopper flying away from you is the easiest thing, if ofcourse it's not out of range that is.

I managed to increase the time it takes for them to occur by overclocking my card from 333 mhz to 450 mhz... but if there is fog or dust or mist on the map... it just happens in minutes!
Edit to Abra-
Did you know that that's how a lot of USAF and RAF pilots avoid fire in jets? They do half a loop, then barel roll to right themselves, throtteling back and dropping flares. This works wonders against Heat Seeking / IR and Radar guided missiles. It works against IR / Heat Seeking missiles by removing the heat source, and works on Radar guided missiles by quickly changing direction, which few missiles can do, and by QUICKLY closing the distance to the firing aircraft. Believe it or not, a lot of missiles still require the launching aircraft to feed it telemetry. Which means it needs to be able to keep radar lock on the target aircraft!
If you're not careful with your throttle and your roll though, you'll stall. If you drop down around 400-300 knots (or is it MPH? I'll explain why I suspect it may be MPH...), you'll stall in level flight. In a vertical spike, it could be even worse.
Battlefield certainly has some weird speed scaling. I said above, when I get down to 400-300 knots, I have to jam my W key and sometimes my afterburner to keep flying. However, my experiences with Falcon 4.0 are telling me something else. 330-440 knots in an F-16 is actually corner airspeed, where the Falcon actually performs the best in turns- don't be telling me that an F-15 can't stay in level flight at that speed, even with its larger and heavier frame. However, 400 miles per hour is slower than 400 knots (400MPH = 347kn), but even then, you're still talking about an airspeed that should be able to keep a jet in level flight.
Even Google is struggling to find me minimum level flight statistics for the Su-XX aircraft and the F-15 (so I'm looking back at F-16 performance). I might not rest until I find out what's up with the physics and aerodynamics in htis game. On the other hand, I might fall asleep right now.

It seems that my problem isn't related to Graphics Card drivers, as I have and X800 Pro, running the latest drivers.
Last night, I done seen a non-VTOL USMC aircraft take off basically like a VTOL aircraft. It was standing totally still until I saw the front of it lift into the air like it was doing a wheelie and the pilot hit the afterburners and it took off. It was ridiculous.
Oh yeah. Last night, as a sniper, I got three kills in really quick succession (the gray 'You Killed blahblahblah' was still on the left side of the screen for all three kills) but I forgot to take a screenshot Still, I think I like sniping. The stats tracking system sucks so much. I've been robbed of four ribbons, a few gold medals, every basic class badge (I've gotten basic engy combat four times now and it hasn't been recorded), and a few other vehicle badges. All I've been trying to do the past week is get badges so I can just play whatever I want and not feel silly for being badgeless. I only just got a ribbon recorded last night, and it's one of the ribbons I got before. So, so lame.

Its getting annoying finding some good organized play for once in a while, the blackhawk owns so much if you can get a dedicated squad to get the right classes to play with you. I love piloting/gunning ^_^
Who cares about badges? Do they get you promoted or something? I can't be bothered to get the engineer badge or the anti-tank badge or anythign like that because I don't play those things long enough to get 10 kills. Are badges just eye candy or what?

Especially with the USMC rifle.
EA had better fix this in their next patch.

I used to get this all the time with my old video card, when I tried to play a graphic-intensive game, it would just crash to the desktop (and play a Windows dialogue box error sound). A memory leak. They only happen occasionally now with my new card though, but it could also be your memory...

Weird it works fine for me :/
Its getting annoying finding some good organized play for once in a while, the blackhawk owns so much if you can get a dedicated squad to get the right classes to play with you. I love piloting/gunning ^_^
