Indeed, when one character admires how a crossbow will spill the cold, blue blood of a noble even from across a field, you might think he won't get along with a baron who considers others too inferior to even talk to.

(edit2) Operation Behemoth is successful! I now control a town, Tihr. The battle was bloody and my military took a huge blow. It took 4 attempts to finally thin out and destroy the 300 man garrison in Tihr. I have most of the Nord lords locked in a prison tower in my capital, so they didn't interfere with my siege. The siege force consisted of my 100 man personal army, a 70 man regiment of elite infantry and the three lords I had at that time, each of them had about 60 - 80 soldiers. I let them return to their castles between the attempts to heal and possibly get more soldiers.
Other than that, all I have to say is that my rather weak infantry didn't mix well with the Nord Huscarls and Warriors on the walls. That's why on the latter attempts I waited till my archers had shot every last one of their arrows before sending the whole wave up the ladder. When they inevitably got killed (or knocked out, I hoped), I repeated the maneuver with the next wave of reinforcements. I spent my time... planning the invasion under the ladder :. . I had two quivers of arrows, a bow and a shield (to get close to the wall in the first place). When we eventually cleared the walls, the battle moved on to the streets where I got brutally beaten to a pulp because I didn't have a melee weapon.
Here's a thousand words: <img src="http://koti.mbnet.fi/retales/MnB/kingdom.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> The (dark) blue ones belong to my kingdom <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> . I have 4 lords now. I've reestablished good relations with Knight Daynad, and the new lords are also pleased with me.
I hope you guys will get the expansion as well when it comes out and enjoy all of it's multiplayer glory <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
I hope that some people here will have a couple of servers going <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
I might get into M&B more than simply playing the demo once the multiplayer comes out; it seems like mindlessly slaughtering armies would get a little old after a while and I'm not so interested in the RPG metagame sort of thing.

Ditto.
But it will come down to- as I frequently moan about- netcode. Has to be smooth and accurate- especially as it's melee-heavy. I don't want to take damage as someone jerkily swing a meat hook in a circle 10 meters away.
