the nuke was fubar and was removed. and I agree on the point some have made already that if the alien team is adaptive and able it has no problem crushing rine team of the same skill.

I actually shudder to think what 950 HP onos will do to combat. One HMG clip can already barely take down an Onos as it is right now in those 50 level plugin servers (no one plays vanilla anymore *sigh*).

But in general, why in the world should Classic have to be balanced according to whats good for CO?
Either let the plugin designers handle it, or balance CO seperately from Classic.

Joe is right. However, I find my downtime too big without regen. Hive doesn't heal quickly enough for my liking. Even with Regen, you still redeem most of the time (which is why Onos takes no skill in Combat). Just don't get Thickened Skin.
Just don't go onos and you'll make an entire marine team happy.
Onoses with carapace and regeneration and redemption in combat are a MUCH bigger issue than "spawncamping" or "stacking" or well whatever. Do everyone a favour and don't do it.
I mean christ, you walk up to one marine devour him and then slowly and without any risk start clawing the rest of the marines, and when you get low on health you redemp. There's no skill involved, there's no suspense and there is nothing the marines can do about it. WHY?!

I pray to warm, tasty pies and all other savoury snacks that the NS team have and always will be balancing CO separately from Classic. They are different games!
I have always maintained the opinion that HMGs are too powerful against fades. When there were teams with good players, it was pretty fvcking ridiculous trying to kill a marine with an HMG [as fade]. The risk/reward situation is way stacked. Weapons 3 doesn't help the case much. The cone of fire is quite large and a mediocre balancer of the weapon; if anything it makes the game more random.
I can't count the number of times that Nadagast/Mustang/myself (can't speak about things over the pond sorry) escaped with "red" hp in those high-profile matches playing versus the respective team when HMGs were fielded. It happened many times per player per round, and I am not exaggerating one bit. Now take into the account that there were one or two star players per team, opposed to a true invite-level team where everyone pulls their weight and then some (along with better teamwork). I suppose this point is moot, because now I'm talking about the prospect of a good team playing NS competitively.
An HMG in the hands of a skilled marine is absolutely insane and the most powerful weapon in the entire game.
Yes but im sure a skilled alien team can counter it and yes i know youre talking about skill that doesnt exist in ns. btw carapace is alot better than regen as first upgrade in this version.

either that, or make 3rd hive abilities time-released. You can't buy them until 3/4 of the total time is up.
