It's not idiotic, it's a question of opinion. I find Counter-Strike to be jaw-wrenchingly boring, and you won't convince me otherwise.

Back in the day CS what "teh hot" I played Action Half-Life, Twas way more fun then CS, as said before: matter of opinion"

I have played CS once and a while, but it didn't have the charm that AHL, NS1.04 and FH has, even HLDM was more fun IMHO, well stalkyards and crossfire perhaps <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    It hasn't changed.

...and I enjoy it very little, and only in 3 month hour long bursts.

That's offensive and ridiculous, Epidemic. Whether you like a game or not is strictly a matter of personal preference. Math isn't. Try a comparison that makes sense.

Saying CS was behind times when it came out is ignorant. Give me an example that was better during the same time period. CS was one of the first shooters that successfully implemented recoil while still making aiming skill and not luck. It was one of the first of its kind, most of what came after was inspired by CS.

The recoil method was all it had. Otherwise it was just another mod, with a faux monetary system to choose between the few worthwhile weapons. Implying it had more than that, purely as a game(and not as a phenomenon) is more ignorant than shoving credit it's way.

huh? I thought the big thing about counterstrike was the death system (sit it out!) which may not have been new but had been rare, the fact there was something to do other than just kill people for a score and the fact people didn't take more bullets to kill than the US army could muster :p

As for the recoil system making it less random... what? The difference it made is between short quick bursts and spray and pray. For ages the first shot was 100% accurate anyways before they fixed it.

DoD had a good non-random recoil system :3

You have no clue what goes on in Guantanamo Bay. It's laughable that you even consider what they do there torture. Then again I'm not the one making comparisons to detainment in Cuba to Auschwitz.

Seriously. Now, who's being trivial. Then again it's easy when you accept whatever anti-American bile that comes across you.

What the hell are you going on about? The common consensus is that it's torture, and there have been a number of statements from officials [and the current bush endeavours to redefine torture] to back this up. The reason they put it in cuba is because it's not subject to american human rights laws or even the geneva convention until june of this year. If you honestly believe that there is not torture going on, nor has there ever been torture, at guantanamo bay, then my arguments speak for themselves -- you don't bear consideration in a logical manner.

And I'm not anti-american, I'm anti-idiots. You, and a large number of other americans, just happen to fit that criteria. Tough luck, stop whinging and get an education.

Wow, first you assume I'm uneducated, next you assume I have no understanding in the areas of cohesion. The only people who call what goes on down there "torture" are people who already had a axes to grind in the first place. How you can compare what goes there "torture" is laughable in it's own right.

Oh and BTW, your arguments only speak to how much of a weak minded fool you are. But I guess I already axed your logic centers of your brain when I pointed out how your the one that can trivialize human suffering.

People will believe anything if you say it enough, to be quite honest, I think what they do in Gitmo doesn't go far enough in terms of cohesion but likewise we aren't sick *******s. But likewise, the only reason your responding to me is because I already shamed you in under a paragraph.

How about you do me a favor and not make another post on this thread and save face. Because you haven't provided me any real proof to your argument other then hearsay about what you consider torture. But then again you probably haven't the slightest clue what real torture is anyway.

And as for ad hom attacks, that's me getting personal pleasure mocking your intelligence.

I'll concede that my post doesn't really have much to do with FPS being banned in Germany, but you guys have just rocketed off subject...and are now orbiting Vega or Alpha Centauri or something. I'm fairly sure that we (the sane amongst us) can all agree that torture in Guantanamo Bay doesn't have anything to do with banning a First Person Shooter in Bavaria.

Why can't someone just invent something that politicians can bash on for causing all our problems, yet nobody cares if it goes away? I'm surprised things like Airsoft and Paintball don't contribute more to politicians' agendas...I mean, you've got realistic guns with the intend to (to some extent) cause pain in other people in a game of intense pretend war. Personally I think running around with a gun that actually shoots projectiles and has realistic actions and looks is a bit more important to focus on than fighting aliens or being annoyed with random bullet spread in a computer game. Why can't we just go back to blaming swing music and those pesky flappers, with their low-down morals and adherence to vice?
