Maybe, by ever having been in the competitive NS community before? The people you keep insisting "Aren't so great without scripts", when all they're trying to tell you is its an absolutely pointless hurdle that flys in the face of Natural-Selections design (unless "Bind mwheelup/down +jump" and "Mouse properties" under windows is part of the whole darwinism aspect), and will do practically nothing to impede how skilled these people are.
But just keep telling yourself everyone except you sucks without scripts. Maybe one day you'll even believe it.
I'd just like to bring this up again, someone in this thread or another thread mentioned that pretty much all of the servers with blockscripts enabled don't have consistency enabled. Ignorance, anyone?

Clanners CARE ABOUT PLAYING FAIR. We hate cheaters we hate model hacks (much more than pubs I might add, I don't know of any pubs with consistency, but all CAL matches and most scrims have it on), but we don't have anything against scripts because we are aware of what they can and can't do... compared to 99% of anti scripters who have no idea what they are actually capable of (not that much).

Oh you think a script that shoots 10 bullets in a row is useful ? A skulk only needs 5 pistol bullets to die. And you wouldn't be able to change direction or input any other command during that time because of all the wait's involved. The only useful pistol script in my opinion is the one that shoots 2 bullets.
Just a question, have you ever tried some scripts, to know what they can and can't do ?

yea, because they are simply drones with no minds or opinions of their own? Who simply take imput and instantly place it into the game ..?
I used to frequent the CS alias and inds forums years ago - probably around the .. 3 or 4th release of it.
I understand what multiple wait commands will do. I understand you can input anything else into the game untill the script is complete. But its only 10 rounds in a pistol. If it takes only 5, there aren't many waits in a script like that. And if you can kill a skulk before it can even reach you, what does it matter if you can't move.

I haven't told anyone to learn to play.
People have told me consistently through out this entire thread that I should be the one to 'learn to play'.
Again, I don't see how knowing one persons name has any relevance to do with any kind of skill you have in a game or how long you have been playing. There are at least 235 servers for NS right now. I supposed to just .. happen upon him and then suddenly realize how awesome he is?
And if he is one who has to use scripts to get where ever he is and be the '1337est' then I guess it puts into question how much skill he really has.
ouch!
Perhaps because I don't play TFC or have any interest in cyber "athletics".
So, because I'm not up to date on the happenings of some .. league tournament, I don't know how to play?
And I'm sorry you think that quote was arrogant, but its the truth.

Are you trying to imply that nadagast got to his high seat in the competitive NS community through scripts? Hugggeeee flamebait.

It doesn't have anything to do with cyber athletics... It has everything to do with people who have been playing longer then you've even heard of games and have contributed more to gaming's growth then you could ever hope to accomplish. Oh and they are a whole lot more knowledgable too, since it's their JOB to set fair rules for a tournament that gives out MONEY. Jesus christ
silver fox is better then nadagast! <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm saying we could probably have a decent discussion about this if not for all you tards telling people to "learn to play" and "get some skill". And that goes for <i>everyone</i> in this thread.
where did I say Nadagast - this is how you play the game.
I just said scripts require less skill. That's all. They do and its a fact.
And no, Mr Bond - I'm not trying to imply anything about any one person specifically.
All I have ever said throughout this entire thread (or have at least tried to) is that using scripts to gain an advantage is wrong. And apparently Flayra and the other coders agree or it wouldn't have been removed.
Not really. I don't mind custom models in the least (<3 to my high poly P&W models) but do have a problem with scripts.
You think that they give people advatage over other players, well if you have some £100 wireless opticle mouse you have an advantage over all the players with a £5 ball mouse.
Not everyone can afford to upgrade there computer to give them a constant fps of 100, or buy the latest hardware to aid there playing (mice, headphones, microphone etc.)
But anyone can edit there config to use scripts to improve there game.
SilverFox I'v been playing since NS v1 but by no means does that make me right or even mean I'm a good player.
I know some extreamly good players too, yet that also doesn't mean I'm right or make me a good player.
ding ding ding
Clanners CARE ABOUT PLAYING FAIR. We hate cheaters we hate model hacks (much more than pubs I might add, I don't know of any pubs with consistency, but all CAL matches and most scrims have it on), but we don't have anything against scripts because we are aware of what they can and can't do... compared to 99% of anti scripters who have no idea what they are actually capable of (not that much).

...and the cycle repeats. I have this neat script, it plays the game for me! I just sit back and eat a bowl of popcorn and watch my script own the whole map. It's so advanced it even drops itself medpacks and ammo by speedhacking back and forth between the front line and the comm chair! It's even got built-in AI so it gets better over time! Fortunately, this script doesn't exist, and is impossible in the HL engine. Unfortunately, it seems like everyone believes that there is such a thing.

the advantadge custom models can give is at least 100 times worse than the advantadge any script in the game can give
How can you begin to assume how old I am, how long I've been playing, how many years I've been playing any kind of game or what types of games I've played?
And you call me arrogant?
And I am talking aout NS. I've hardly said I'm the god of all gaming and have contributed to every known game to man.
Care to elaborate as to why they require less skill ? Or should we believe everything you say because you played the game before us ?

Anyway really these CPL guys kinda know what they are talking about. Considering they've given out over a million dollars in prizes they better... right?

Right on nada, right on. It seems that the whole pubbing community would rather block a +3jump script than worry about players with no skulk teeth, or pink aliens/green marines.
I thought that simple logic would dictate it requires more skill to press fire multiple times and keep the crosshair on target, then simply targeting and pressing 1 key to fire all your rounds ..
do you .. really not see how that requires less skill?
It all apart of the same problem.
Users exploiting something so they can get an advantage.
I never said scripting was worse then changing models or exploiting client/server commands. But it's still exploiting.
If I am so wrong, why were they removed? Flayra and Co. iggnorant too?

WE HAVE A WINNER!
I don't have a mouse wheel to bhop so I use a script. Should I have to go out and buy a new mouse with a mouse wheel?
Plus, everyone can script. Every single one of you can do it! All of the most common scripts are easily found and easily used. I used to be an avid anti-scripter, but then I realized "Hey, this bhop script doesn't do the bhopping for you!"
Just a question, have you ever tried some scripts, to know what they can and can't do ?

lol again you show you don't know what you're talking about...
Maybe they listened to people who are misinformed about scripts, like a large majority of the anti-scripters.

You obviously have no concept of how a pistol script. Most (all pretty much) fire one shot on click and one shot on release. You don't push one button and it fires 10 shots. You still have to track the skulk. Also, can you explain to me how you define skill as having faster finger muscles than someone else? Skill is mental, at least for this game.

What was removed? What are you talking about? Scripting is exploiting now? That's funny, it's built into the game, and most scripts are used to use a built-in feature in NS approved by Flayra himself.

someone who actually looked at the facts and saw the light! :o
too bad there are lots of people who aren't even willing to look at pro-scripters arguments.

Lies, because we all know that every single pistol script makes you fire your pistol 10x. <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
