Turns out I had some wierd old modified or something Xvid codec still installed. I add/removed it, reinstalled the new one that came with the trailer, and now it works.
Excellent music. Pfft...you coulda asked me for a composition, ya know... <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
EDIT:
I now have this baby running constantly as my background. VLC ftw!
Er ... I've tried downloading both zips for a total of like 20-30 times ...
The first one ALWAYS freezes at 97% for the three links on the main webpage and the links I could find and try in this thread.
The smaller one froze at 92%.
I have campus internet and its REEEEALLLY fast, so I'll keep trying, but it still sucks to get to 21.0 out of a 21.7 MB file to have it freeze. Reading the comments makes me even more anxious to see it <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->(
It needs cgi to start if off, it would tottaly rape with some cgi in the begining then go into gameplay. i would say use that one that the guy made that was an opening scene for ns then put the fade at the end of the trailer then cut out to ns 3.0, just my suggestion.

Try Fileplanet or ampednews.com... Maybe Fileshack has even put it up by now...
The motion blur effect is what causes it to appear so "fluid", however the textures themselves are unchanged. I have to say, though, that Half-Life 2 has spoiled me rotten. Those textures are just so flat and low-res. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Well, I do have the NS 1.0 trailer in my (now looming over 2 gb of data) NS folder, I might host it, but my bandwidth would get nuked.... its exactly the same 3.0 b1 video, except there is alot of NS 1.0 gameplay footage (including a few instances of Comprox being pistol whipped if you look carefully). Perhaps when readyroom goes back up....
im downloading it now... iwish it would hurry up <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> oh well...

Well... the music for both 1.0 and 3.0 trailers was made custom IIRC (by request/payment of Flayra?). However much game footage you put in, its a short and sweet trailer that isn't meant to show you the entire game, 1-2 minutes is just fine I think, just look at movie trailers, not like 5 minutes, 1-2... <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I just finished reencoding the trailer so I could bring it to school to pimp NS (video already brought one guy to NS).
Very nice, top work <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

They didn't show someone being digested!!!!! They need to make a longer one fore those poeple that want to see more. How long does it take to edit a movie once the shots have been taken?
Hehe there was a devour scene in on of the earlier versions. But we agreed that most viewers would be irritated by the sprite (if you don't know it, it looks freaky), so I took it out.
Very good work indeed, I love how you panned the camera and trailed the Lerk, and the opening scene textures with the warning sound and red light going on and off were amazing.
