OH!!! I can't believe I forgot Starcraft. It opened up the world of online playability to me and sucked away MUCH of my free time for 3 years. Calling friends up and playing while on headset phones (which we bought just for starcraft!) and then having mass coordinated attacks. Good times.
Maus, the "Distract the Driver" mission is so painfully easy...you just drive along side the convoy on the opposite side of the median for a minute or so, then the general will order the tank driver to go get him some doughnuts, at which point, you can just hop right into the tank and drive away.
As for the choppers, just takes practice. Was a ****-and-a-half for me at first, but I eventually beat it.
Unsure of what the 9 minutes of long tedious stuff is though, in any case, just go to <a href='http://www.gamefaqs.com/' target='_blank'>www.GameFAQs.com</a> and look up "GTA:VC" and there will be 20 or so walkthroughs with great instructions if you ever get stuck, maps, and other misc. tips, hints and cheats.

I prefer strategy games, thus the liking for Civ etc, and anything with puzzles in it (TR, HL etc, but I wish they would make them harder. Alice took me a couple of days, so did Myst, but Riven took a couple more and Exile got a week!) but TFC and NS are the only FPS that I enjoy.
If you loved any of the Tomb Raider series, check out the new Prince of Persia. Zone of the Enders 1&2 (I hated the dialoge and short play but it was fun flying a uber OF)
ZOE: Mars ... something forgot, just loved the plot twists.
Half-life (figures)
Resident Evil: Outbreak (GOT TO LOVE ONLINE FINALLY)
Anyther game I go <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> over.
Hitman is pretty much Ze ownage among all SP games (well besides HL and Deus Ex)
Best RTS of all times being StarCraft of course. The mere fact that the crew of the Enterprise plays chess but no StarCraft games makes Star Trek totally unrealistic.
Not sure about the best MP FPS , might be XMP ; best FPS/RTS hybrid being NS btw.
Best web MMORTS : AstroWars. Nasty global strategy , including nickelodeon diplomacy , american fashioned peacekeeping and unpredictable betrayals.
Best game ever: Command a Conquer: Red Alert. I don't know if any of you remember this game well enough to remember the addons (Aftermath and Counterstrike [this was made far before CS came out, mind you]), but on the moon level on counterstrike (named Lunar Madness, I believe), I faced off 7 computers and won on the hard difficulty setting. It took me 6 hours. Now, for a regular game, it lasts 35 minutes AT MOST, and you usually (if you win, that is) lose about 150 troops, and kill about 300. I killed nearly 6000, and lost roughly 1400. Greatest game I've played in red alert, and as such, it receives my vote as the greatest game of all time.
Fallout Series Metroid Series Red Alert Pikmin Starcraft Chrono trigger Diablo 2 Zelda series System Shock 2
Best game out of the above? Fallout 2 hands down. I find myself coming back to this game time and time again.
I'm in the middle of Planescape: Torment right now and I have to say I'm very underwhelmed. I feel like I have no direction with my character, the 3 class system only adds to this, as well as the story somewhat. I haven't found anywhere to actually buy equipment for my characters (except tattoos) so I feel like I'm running around naked. The combat is rather sparse and not very exciting. On the plus side, the concept is great, and the writing is FANTASTIC. I'm sure I'm going to get ripped apart, but oh well.
Space Invaders: Father of the Space Sim <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Space Quest Series (Hilarious, I used to reinstall SQIII just to play astrochicken) Descent (I wasn't much into Doom back then, but I kicked major arse in Descent) X-wing Original C&C Half-life No One Lives Forever 1 & 2 (best FPS's evar! Not ground breaking like HL, but HILARIOUS plot lines, places and characters)
NOLF 1 & 2 did not get as much exposure as it deserves IMHO.
Plenty of other great games that I've played, but these seem to stand out in my mind

Indeed it is. Despite the fact that I haven't managed to beat anyone at it, yet <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
You said it... well, no - I think Deus Ex has the best STORY of any game and is my favorite RPG simply because I hate non first-person RPGs with dragons and fairies and the infamous Level Treadmill.
Best thinking man game: Deus Ex
Best combat: Halo
Best atmosphere: Half-Life
Best multiplayer: 3-way draw between NS/Halo/Aliens vs. Predator 2
Best "fantasy" game (which I usually hate): Final Fantasy VII
Best movie-based game: AvP2
Best game-based movie: probably Deus Ex or Max Payne in the fyuucha, but for now FF: The Spirits Within
Best combat system ever. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->

This game was the first and only game ever that made me think about the meaning of life <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo-->
HALF-LIFE 2!!
FABLE !!
FF11 !!
Morrowind (so many add-ons)
Armored core series!
Anyther game I go <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> over.
Metroid Series
Red Alert
Pikmin
Starcraft
Chrono trigger
Diablo 2
Zelda series
System Shock 2
Space Quest Series (Hilarious, I used to reinstall SQIII just to play astrochicken)
Descent (I wasn't much into Doom back then, but I kicked major arse in Descent)
X-wing
Original C&C
Half-life
No One Lives Forever 1 & 2 (best FPS's evar! Not ground breaking like HL, but HILARIOUS plot lines, places and characters)
NOLF 1 & 2 did not get as much exposure as it deserves IMHO.
Plenty of other great games that I've played, but these seem to stand out in my mind

Am I slow, or is half of these games not out yet?
It doesn't matter. They <i>will</i> own all when they are released.
