What about the behind the tram area? Has that been extended to provide a sense of continuance of the tunnel, or are you just sticking with the old style where it almost immediately goes dark? Screenshots are looking great, of course.
Man I can't wait to play this new bast, just like I couldn't wait to play the new nancy. As soon as it's done I hope beta 4 is released so we can play it.

Just tried it out in 3.0... there's really only room for 4, unless chambers were somehow more stackable in a smaller space in 2.0, which they didn't seem to be to me.
Will you be making the source available to mappers who want to make extra expanded or tweaked versions of Bast? You would not have to release it openly, for example give it out to individual requests. I don't understand the reluctancy to do public beta tests myself. I don't see what harm it can do, and also can help collect lots of feedback from the people who play ns most commonly - ie 'the public'.

Ok, we just had a small playtest on the map with some people from the #nsmapping-channel and some PTs. Looks like the map works quite well, and the biggest issue right now seems to be the lighting that's way too dark. There will be public PTs, just... not now, they will happen when we feel the product is more finished and presentable to the whole public. It doesn't take so many time to get it to look right. We just have to work on the lighting now and the few bugs that we found.

Refinery was darker than that :| The hive is nicely camoed againist the infestation though and i had trouble seeing it as the big cylinder things do block a lot of the line of sight.

Refinery Hive looks so sexy. That was always my favorite place in that map... Well, except for that cave in feedwater... ... And the rest of the map. I think the only place I really <i>didn't</i> like was the little ComChair pod thing... it was so stupid, and encouraged you to either do a bonsai base, or to put some turrets up there, and yeah..... I hope the command chair is being moved, or at least that little thing is being fixed to be a bit better.
Oh. Back to refinery...
The fact that I know how it used to look just makes the infestation look so much sweeter. I see it, and it's like "What the hell happened while we were gone! We must exterminate the kaharaa!" Y'know? lol...
It's like we left for a year, came back, and all the infestation is abck, but even worse this time.
