Well, in response to focus being too easy to kill with, that stems from too many people rushing heavy weapons and not playing team-oriented in combat. Sure, combat's not quite so team-centric, but if you play as a team in combat you're that much better. Stick with at least 1 buddy, and if you've got welders, keep each other welded. I just played a 2v2 alien-marine game, and while it was basically a stalemate, me with L3 shotgun and armor 2, welder and resupply, and my buddy with a welder and hmg (don't know what else he had) managed to easily hold off a fade and a silenced skulk. Sure, 1 of us might die, but the other could finish off the attackers, and with us welding each other, any time they DIDN'T kill us it was a whole new match. I ALWAYS weld buddies in combat, and that helps far more than it might seem.
In response to focus possibly being taken out, I point to Resupply, which occurs INSTANTLY when you take first damage. Resupply is alot like regenerating Armor 1 as far as regular skulks are concerned, and with JP, it becomes that much harder to take them down, as you have to get lucky and get 2 hits within about 4 seconds to actually kill a JP who's armor has been stripped. If anything happens to focus, make sure to give Lerks permanent focus
Leap-Bite and Focus are about as close to an AWP(/M) as NS has come, I have to agree. In the hands of a skilled leap-biter, it's incredably hard to defend yourself, especially since they can leap in, bite, leap out, then do it again 1 second later and kill you. The only defense is deadly accuracy, timing, and luck with a shotgun, or else HA, which is rather high up the tech tree. The same could be applied to Blink-Slash, actually, as fades are only 1 point higher up the tech tree, and can take MUCH more abuse. They're just bigger targets, and less people rush fade than do rush leap-focus, so we naturally get less complaints.
But, I can't leap-bite/blink-slash worth beans, so don't yell at me when I focus, I'm just strafing my way around

Actually, resupply doesn't IMMEDIATLY drop a medpack on a marine. It's on a timer that checks what the marine needs. Health has a higher value than ammo, so a player can have 1 shot but will get medpacks till full then ammo. I have been bitten before and not get a medpack till the skulk turns around, leaps and goes to bite me. I agree with cereal though. Focus should have a prerequisite like a sg does. And I'll say again, SGs aren't ONE HIT KILL WEAPONS. You can have a level 3 shotty and a skulk with carapace could still survive. I've had many times where I had a point blank shot on a skulk and it survived to bite my face off.

For the record, if I didn't have focus, I would still get a1, but I would get it second and w1 first. I like my LMG.

If the hitbox bug was fixed, as well as the SG bug (which I'm really starting to think are 2 seperate things) then SG's on close range skulks really would be One hit kill weapons..

Those bugs will be quashed and may then require some additional balance work to the SG..

I think it's funny when I'm called a nub for having focus. I meen, it's by people who at most have been playing for a month (I,ve been playing for over a year), can't aim, and whine a lot.

I just ignore people most of the time and laugh at them.
