We live in a connected world. Right or wrong, UWE could not have pleased everyone regardless their decision. UWE has a right to fire anyone they want (mostly), and customers have a right to respond according to their conscience, based on what they k…

One of the ideas floated early on was to provide small-sized prefab areas (with "transition areas" at the edges) that could be stitched together in a random fashion each game. This would have provided the same detail that we see in the current game,…

I have seen no official promises about XB1 1.0 regarding save game compatibility. I imagine it is their intent to preserve it if possible.
They intend to work primarily on performance. So, the only thing that would break compatibility wo… -
UWE had "Accumulators" for this exact purpose at one time. I guess they were cut because they weren't technically needed. Still, would have been nice.

I have had the same problem. And using a wiki should never be the solution to the problem.
(All this said, I still find the game very fun - and am still looking for those pesky upgrades) -
@SubGamer1233 Good! And thanks for telling us what you did so that others can fix their systems if they have similar problems.
-
Good point. There needs to be an /unstuck command (that would affect your subs as well) that does not break achievements.

The fact you have an SSD and an 2.5Ghz i5 helps considerably. I suggest you buy, and play the game for 30 minutes. If its too choppy, do a refund. Also, enable showing FPS (either via Steam overlay or typing "fps" in the console).

UWE checked in a DLL-modding patch on Dec 30 2017. They pulled this a day later when it was determined modding (even the simple stuff they wanted to support) would be too complicated to polish before release. I hope the post-1.0 modding support does…

It looks like a Subnautica stylized portal gun to me

I've got a 5 year old gaming laptop with SSD and it runs ~30 fps, dipping to 25 sometimes. I get almost no hitching, and no crashes. I consider that very good for such an old machine. Unless you are running something even older, don't have a good de…

This situation is actually a side-effect of a bug in Unity 5.3, which made true fullscreen not work properly. As a result, UWE disabled it. Since UWE moved to Unity 5.6.x in Jul 2017, this should have been fixed. However, I suspect the 1.0 release c…

The terraformer is still in-game, you just have to spawn it manually (item 514). I verified it still works after the 1.0 PC release. However, UWE has removed saving (and reloading) of the changes made with the terraformer. This was done for performa…

UWE checked in a change for DLL based modding (Steam/PC only) late December, but pulled it because it was too complicated for the 1.0 release. However, the word is that they intend to add this support post 1.0, provided the hurdles aren't insurmount…

Regarding XBoxOne release: (Quote)
Additionally, UWE intends to do performance work targeted specifically at XBoxOne into Februrary before the XB1 Subnautica 1.0 release. Target dates not yet known. -
Its possible a recent game update moved terrain into your base. I recommend you use a console command to move out of the base:

What do those models have to do with Subnautica?

In a recent major update, a bunch of new achievements were added to Subnautica on Steam. This brings the number up to 17. This is fewer than I had hoped, but better th…

15 seconds? Is this w/ a spinning hard drive? And how much physical RAM?

If you replace the XBox One (X) HDD with an SSD, it would noticeably help loading times (including hitching between areas).
Over the last few months, UWE has made significant improvements to the preloading process to mitigate these probl… -
The original request has nothing to do with "automation". It has to do with making it "not annoying" to fabricate.
Currently, a person that hasn't memorized all of the recipes has to go to the fabricator, look up the recipe, try to remem… -
XB will never run in 4K on the XBX - it isn't powerful enough. It will still run "better" than the XB1 though.

Interesting. Just yesterday, I was watching a streamer who got out of the game and was getting back in only to have to wait for an update. I guess this explains why.

I can now run Subnautica @ 1080p ~25-35 fps with basically no stuttering on my 2012 era gaming laptop (i7 3rd gen + GT 650M). Admittedly, I have upgraded to an SSD since then, which does help loading between areas.

Nighttime should be different. I don't now about simply "brighter", but that's a good start.

Perhaps aging has been cured in the Alterra future?

Tested Subnautica out last night - Nice polish all around.
- Fabricator menu looks cleaner
- Beacons are less intrusive yet more helpful
- PDA functionality/information more professional looking

Resource pooling (from nearby lockers) has been requested many times, and IMO is in the top 10.
UWE has (unofficially) said they intend to implement some of these improvements. However, this will likely happen after the 1.0 release.
