This thread finally helped me put how I feel about the movement changes in clear language. I won't touch the Fade movement (which I veritably loathe).
Skulk movement now feels like I have rubber cement attached to my boney little … -
First, I have never been so annoyed by Yakkety Sax before.
Second, this only proves that Drifters need a buff. They should do 10 damage a bite! -

I never thought that I would identify with Hitler. Does this make me a bad person?

If the teams I'm playing against are at an acceptably lower level (three or four of them can't kill me), I will intentionally lower my skill level to even the fight, especially on rookie friendly servers. I find this to be the fair action to make th…

My favorite was brought up to me by a person whose name I cannot recall right now. He said to me, "Build a veil wall!" So, I went ahead and tried it.
It turns out that the 5 res upgrade buildings also serve as a cheap concrete wall. They'… -
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. A slower firing pistol would give a great excuse to show off that kickass Luger action on the rear of the gun. The "Ye Olde Gun Tips Back" animation we have right now leaves much to be desired. And it woul…

Holy crap. I intended to go to sleep, wake up with a clear head, then try to explain the features of Descent that are awesome... and I came back to a war zone.
For the record, complaining that you had to do some extra running because the… -

Not without sacrificing enough health that it is easily killed by any other marine in the area. Sure, an Onos can likely kill a dual exo that doesn't have any support, but that's not likely, except in forced beacon situations (whic… -

You bring up an important fact I completely forgot about. Heavy Armor players were the biggest nuisance in NS1... welding each other and firing HMGs into the poor alien players....

Descent is by far my favorite map with the most dynamic gameplay (at least for aliens). My only problem with it is the bug causing ARCs to deal half damage if fired from next to the shuttle in Launch Control (is that fixed?). I'm not quite sure why …

I never cease to enjoy all the screaming that comes with the very notion of aliens having a one hit kill, while marines have several ways of killing an alien player instantly (including the new Railguns, which I love).
As far as complain… -

I stopped typing this post to try it out again. I really don't like the changes. Skulk wall movement feels a lot more sticky, and you lose momentum very quickly. What's more, there's no meter for wall jump force when debugging spee… -

When I was testing it, you would do a mini-leap in the direction you were looking at. However, I stopped typing this post to check it again. You're right.
I'm a bit disappointed that I never realized this change had hap… -

What I've been saying is that mini-leap was once a lot more powerful, lending a lot more speed. It got nerfed. Also, it works based on which direction you are looking in.
But without that mini-leap for a burst of moment… -
I loved NS1, and I love NS2... but there's only one thing I truly miss.
I miss Gorges being the builders. If UWE came out and said, "Next big patch: Khammander gone! Gorges back in business!" I would lose my mind and start beating my che… -

It's nice of you to insult all of the people I've ever played against. It's even nicer of you to talk down about my play style as if it's the worst thing ever to have been done.

I play on servers hosted on the west coast of the US. When I say I take on 3-4 marines alone, I mean in a decently open enough area that allows me to duck through and around them with shadow step. Now, there are very easy ways to d… -
Since we started talking about Fades, I would like to say that, as a decent Fade player, I use regen and regularly kill groups of 3-4 marines alone with smart shadow stepping and retreating. The only problem I have with the Fade extends to all of th…

I'm a big fan of wall jumping, but it's just not rewarding enough to master it now. I still miss the leap you could do off of walls into the sky once upon a time. Those were fun times.

As somebody who has favored aliens over marines since NS1, I find myself playing marines more often lately. Marines are just in a better place. They're easily more fun to play, and it's easy to dominate skulks now.
And as somebody who ab… -
In my experience using them, five ARCs is the sweet spot in murdering hives. The crags all die, and the hive only has a few seconds more to live. The key is them all firing at once.
In that respect, two per tech point seems like a sweet … -
tarquinbb has clearly never had a duo of trolls build IPs under diagonal metal beams, such as the ones in Server Room. You've got to love spawning inside of a prop that keeps you from moving while skulks chomp at your legs and kill you over and over…
