The average 'decent' NS2 player is a prick and often quite elitist. They treat new players really badly. They like being the 'top' of a very small community. They remind me of old school churchmen.

I think dBus is talking about transaction cost. He might be willing to pay the cost of learning the map system and this game's organisational techniques but his family isn't.

I guess these differing views are just the difference in taste between gamey-game people and immersion people.
Immersion gamers want the game to feel, well, immersive. The internal logic should 'feel' sufficiently in line with what they'…I don't know.
