If you have a deep base, plant a growbed right next to it with Brain Coral - but when you plant them, wait 10 seconds between planting each coral sample. When they mature, you will have a nearly steady stream of air bubbles in a column to the surfac…

I'd kind of like to see some tidal effects, particularly during an eclipse.

I hate warpers. Least fun aspect of the game for me, by far. If you play permadeath/hardcore, a warper is usually the reason you have to start over, so "memorize their locations, learn where they patrol" takes a LOT of deaths and restarts. The combi…

If you are going to be traveling along a certain route frequently, you can bring a bit of titanium and some Creepvine Pods along. Use your habitat builder to place an External Growbed, and then plant a Creepvine Pod. It will grow into a nice tall, y…

They at least provide you with Crashfish powder, which you absolutely must have to build a critical tool. They are also mildly entertaining, when you hear one launch, but didn't see it beforehand (cue immediate wild acceleration an… -
The Bulbo Tree is a source of food and water, at least. And it doesn't swim around to get in front of you and block the view in tunnels and such.(Quote)
Perhaps you don't see the significance of my username? I dive. In and out of Subnautica

Manually changing tanks is a thing in real world Technical Diving, so I don't see this as either unrealistic nor game breaking. I already trade inventory space for more air (like real life) so having to swap a tank in m…(Quote)
Nope, I am improving my environment, and if someone doesn't rescue this planet from me soon, I'll conquer it. Also, some players can always serve as 'Bad Examples'. The shuttlebug is just mobile clutter.(Quote)
Between this and your sig block, I almost choked to death on my coffee this morning, and my wife thought I might need psychiatric help on top of the Heimlich thing. (One of my major hobbies is studying pre-1700 performance magic.)Its a nice quality of life improvement, because I don't have to 'avoid scanning sandstone so I can tell the difference with the scanner popup'. Now they look different and I'm good to go.

So asking why a convenient feature, that used to be in the game, was removed is an indication of laziness? That having the battery charge always indicated when a tool was selected was something, that somehow 'did everything' for us…(Quote)
Thermoknife + Still Suit = extreme endurance when traveling away from your base. Downside is that the knife degrades pretty quickly.I've never seen a lifepod drift, after I put up a four pole barrier. Are you playing experimental, or an old build perhaps?
You can simply anchor 4 pieces of pipe around the life pod (one on each side, they don't have to be connected). That will prevent any drifting, permanently. Just put them sticking up/down vertically, like fence poles, close but not touching the pod.…I usually build a little microbase under/near the life pod at the beginning, to get more storage until I sort out where I want to build my main base. Then I build my main base (usually by the thermal vent in the SW shallows) and that serves as my on…(I smiled when I checked the link to the 'Bolt Hole' video. Its almost an exact copy of my minimalist base I posted in June of 2016. I'm pleased to see that microbases are still useful.)(Quote)
I've done it about six times today, the collision detection seems way off for me. I have moved all of my planters away from the walls and other objects, and I no longer grow Gel Sacks in the AC, I put them outside in a grow bed.(Quote)
This is the guy I want as my partner when we crash land on a planet.
I'll add some further advice in the same 'no spoiler' theme:
1. Generally, you want to use your life pod as your first 'home base', becaus…I've found the knife-thru-base thing to be pretty irritating. Been gone for six months, came back to try the new content, and immediately ran into this bug and the one where I try to click on a locker and my character replaces an imaginary battery i…On a side note, when you are about to drown underwater, your body does not always let you know - free divers die fairly often from this phenomena, actually. When you get that feeling that you 'need to breath', what is really happening is your Carbon…Also the more junk you have in your inventory/equipped (extra tanks, etc) the slower you swim.
For me, the PRAWN is a mining suit, not much else.(Quote)
This power comes from the Cyclops own power stores, however.
Its a sliding scale, which tapers off to just about zero around 220m depth. In practical terms, you start looking for alternatives (or very large numbers of them) around 150m deep. There's a chart in the Wiki about it that is pretty accurate.@Obraxis - this is the thread I mentioned.(Quote)
I *am* playing in Stable, Survival mode. I do not, have not ever, played in Experimental. See my thread in the Bug Report forum area for pics and details, thanks.(Quote)
Two tips:
1. Do not swim/hover/pilot Seamoth directly over any big pink mushrooms.
2. Do not get too close to the walls/ceilings of the abandoned base. The first has to do with Jumpscare Snakes…Cyclops = Poseidon
Seamoth = Jeep
PRAWN = haven't named it yet, since its always with the Cyclops for mining ops I'll probably just call it Trident
The last two games I started, the Cyclops Power Efficiency Module has not spawned in the Engine Room (sine they closed the hole in the floor). The console that is supposed to hold it is there, but no module. I even searched the floors and catwalks i…
