I think he's refering to the tram hive room ladder. I think it's obvious when you see it ;)

It's good to try new things!

I think the alien team's commander UI is the last to be changed; and I think its being made similar to the marines for simplicity.

And yeah there's a problem with fade blink now, you can accidentally blink into walls and a few other things unlike before.

    yea..that ladder sucks ballz ass.

I didn't use it but once when a marine was chilling out on there.
problem was: I wasn't quite able to release myself (drop down) from the ladder.
I literally had to climb downawrds to the ground. jump and dropping to the side didn't work. was like I was glued to the ladder. or like a rail dictating my direction.

btw: what purpose does this ladder have? never paid any attention to that.

Yeah, that's more of an issue regarding the way ladders currently work in code, not that specific ladder in Tram. The ability for marines to climb ladders was added to the game in a pretty basic way, just to get it working. Since its not something that breaks the game at the moment, the polish time required to make getting on and off of them better will come later.

Insulting? I apologise if you find that insulting, I find straight talking works best.

Marine spawn, has been recently changed and there is a ladder in the corner by a spotlight, going up to a cat walk. There is enough room for a player to get to the top layer, however the ladder has been made too high and it stops the player (as a marine) actually getting there, unless they duck.

I was just playing around with the grenade launcher and i noticed they go invisible for a second at a certain distance, also if shooting close to the wall they often disappear instead of bouncing off, i expect they're being launched from inside the wall, also the flashlight shouldn't go out when pressed right up against a wall or object, sometimes i like to take a close look at something only for it to go out, not a big issue i know just thought i would mention it.

Yeah I noticed this, and found it very weird. Was this an issue in any of the previous builds? I do like the brightness of the flashlight though.

Anyone noticed some new and very cool features coming into play for 162. Server improvements, and some really cool commander gubbins?

    # Make commander alerts mouse clickable
    # Show active marine requests to Commander
    # Make orders drawable for Commander (entities)
    # Portable power generators

Yeah, good stuff. Let's hope it all makes it into 162. Just my opinion, but I doubt we'll have a patch tomorrow. If we do, Physics updates won't make it in, most likely. I'm really glad they're redoing the Alien comm UI in Lua, it needed it. "Game statistics system" could be very interesting.

lookat the plus side though: that progress list is MOVING right along.... towards "onprocessmove" ...so happy were getting to performance stuff.

So, until the Physics tasks (from Technical Tasks list) are done, I suspect the OnProcessMove or Hydra optimization won't get touched, sadly.

Very doubtful we'll get a patch today or even Monday. Imo, they shouldn't release a patch until Max can finished the Physics optimizations.

I don't see why they couldn't release a patch, what difference will it make. They are probably play testing frequently, and I doubt it takes that long to package it all.

I would rather not see a patch until everything on the progress page is complete. Even if it takes a month to get it out. Less time building packaging is more time squashing bugs.

i'd like to see server and performance improvements as soon as they are done. fixing the flamethrowers and other features aren't as important to me. how can i accurately rate how overpowered flamethrowers are if i can't even kill a marine when he only has a rifle and he's afk (exaggeration)? balance issues at this point aren't at the top of my list. although even if they were, i wouldn't change flamethrowers just yet. i hate to be the person that compains about lag and fps all the time, but honestly that is what's holding the game back. there's a good list of servers around me, but they are all empty. the one or two populated servers (if any at certain times) are miles away with very high pings. the lag is killing the game. you can't test the game when there is no one to play with and no one wants to play a game when they can't complete simply actions because of lag.

after saying all of that...i think the game is coming along nicely and i get excited with every update.
