    Try Super+L (Super is the "windows-key") to go to the login screen, then go to your account again and you should be able to focus on to that window. Or at least you should see the task bar now to choose between the windows. If it does not work open the task manager first and then call the login screen

    after watching the video, i've noticed vents are not correctly displayed on alien commander mode. They should be better defined, and not so much blend in with the rest of the minimap. I'm not sure how players minimap looks like, but vents have to be better marked on maps for all players.

    good video hope he posts more vids 162 build.

    I don't think vents appear right in commander view either (as in the top down view, not the mini map), drifters/macs just seem to go through walls (which confused me a lot to begin with) until I realized it was a vent.

    Some soft outline would be neat on both.

    I wonder if the crash on exit is caused by fmod because both me and "player" get an exception at fmod_event.dll!0021f205()
    if we have a debugger attached when the game exits but this is with vs2010 and there still stuck with vs2005 last i saw so idk if they see it

    <u><b>GORGE VIEW</b></u>

    I know a lot like it but its very bad for new players and some others like me.
    I can understand the in-mouth-camera for the Skulk but why for the gorge?
    For example i was the gorge and i try to heal a Lerk, i haven't a big 32" screen so its very hard to see whats going over and under your, because the Mouth take like the whole screen.
    Remember the lerk fly the most time.
    Okay it looks cool but its a handycap for the gorge in my mind.
    compare Gorge and fades view
    <img src="http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/487/49270764.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    <img src="http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/4643/micefade.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    Maybe you think the gorge doesn't have to look up, wrong, the marines can stand on higher places like ladders or something and you can't see them until its to late.

    Do you think Gorges heal will hurt marines on later releases?

    I mean the view of the lerk and fade are great, you see everything clear only the arms and lerk "things" but no in-mouth-cam.
  • RuntehRunteh Join Date: 2010-06-26 Member: 72163Members, Reinforced - Shadow
    I don't think it is too much of a problem, because it is not supposed to be an offensive class.

    What I will say about the Fade arms though is that it looks really odd with them just hanging mid air and not running like in the 3rd person model. Not sure of there is an animation or not, but would be good to see one.

    This is something we would like to address. The simplest solution is that we can hand paint the vents on the minimaps. But the preferable, but more time consuming solution would be to do it through code as part of the automatic minimap generation process, so community mappers don't have to paint the minimaps generated for the maps they create.

    I believe that has been addressed and fixed in patch 162. I think the spawn points in central and in marine expansion were slightly in the floor preventing
    eggs from spawning.

    There is also a problem with the stairs near central hive (the one going up to the RT). When you fall in the little space, as a marines, just right by the stairs you are blocked inside even if you crouch.
    I've already managed to get out of here by looking at the stairs but that's not easy. Not sure it's really useful to get this empty space there rather than a wall ?

    yes indeed, i thought i was the only one who had this problem. gorge view is very limited, and sometimes its hard to see everything on my screen because of the upper mouth.
    gorge view has to be better adjusted/changed.

    I think the top half of the mouth seems to be much more obtrusive than the bottom.
    Maybe if that part was raised slightly?

    no biggy - the gorge isn't really a combat alien - this view reinforces that the gorge is a builder and support alien

    It was answered somewhere in this thread before (should be put somewhere on the first post :)) but here it is:

    <b>"Started"</b> means the task (game feature or bug fix for example) is being worked on.
    <b>"Finished"</b> means the task is finished.
    <b>"Delivered"</b> means the feature or bug fix has been added or implemented in the build that the play testers receive.
    <b>"Rejected"</b> means play testers found the mew feature or bug fix to not be acceptable due to bugs or so (start from scratch again).
    <b>"Accepted"</b> means the play testers found that the feature or bug fix works as intended without any issues.

    here you can see ns1 gorge view point, look how much of the screen is visible, nothing goes unnoticed.
    I should of link these two point views before so people can compare, and see the problem better.
    I don't think we need to see gorge view through his mouth.

    ya but the gorge aint exactly a fast combat alien like the rest. its job is to healspray and make structures etc. needing a larger viewing area isnt necessarily required.
    lets be realistic: if its gorge vs marine (both vanilla full health) its marine who wins hands down in seconds.
    so what does he really need all that view area for?? he isnt going on ceilings or flying etc.

    but hes not meant in any way to be any real threat... his attack is annoying at best. any gorge, even with 200 ft away in darkness will not run into a room and challenge a marine, he'll call skulks or fades etc for help and run the hell away. hence the belly slide. :)
    idk,.. i think its a moot point imho because its like asking for a motorcycle helmet when you dont own or ride a motorcycle. :-D

    absurd answers...
    How can the view "reinforces" that the gorge is a builder and supporter?
    Its a support, defence AND attack class (7 hits to kill a marine at full health, the gorge spit very fast...)!
    If you start healing or shooting spit, your view get much more bad.

    <img src="http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/9735/88560452.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    <img src="http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/8441/82094831.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
    not thaaat bad but it takes to much screen.

    see how much the screen is taken if you healing?
    its not all the time but its annyoing in my opinion, the gorge have to see more, he is already very weak.
