    WOW!!! That's terrific. Thank you!

I hope it will be included into the final game.

It works like the commander map (same code) except I made the blips update much more often than 1.5 seconds before.

I don't have any attack, defend, order, etc info yet although that kind of stuff will eventually be on there I am sure.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    amazing work, and thank you!

two things made minimaps amazing, you can watch everything going on the map, in live and you can see which building was under attack, which made you hear sound - "your building is under attack." this was so important, it helped teammates see what is being attacked, and be aware of the attacks without looking at the map. can't wait to see your work in-game, thanks again.

"Changing flamethrower to be more "crippling". Reducing direct damage but on fire entities get their energy back at 20% of normal.

I predict a rise in modded servers and a decrease in players.

I predict a 10000% decrease in forum posts about nerfing the flamethrower, because UW just nerfed the flamethrower

I rather wait and see this in-game before I comment on this, but yes this is great news. And I hope the blinding effect, and going through walls is fixed as well.

by the way: where can I find an explanation what the terms on the progress page exactly mean? I get things like "started" or "finished" but what (for example) does "delivered" mean? Kinda confusing to get the difference(es) if you are not really into it.
  • zexzex Join Date: 2009-10-07 Member: 68978Members
total guess, but I would say "delivered" means someone has been told to do X, "accepted" means that person has confirmed that X is on their task list, and the rest is self explanatory.
  • RuntehRunteh Join Date: 2010-06-26 Member: 72163Members, Reinforced - Shadow
    I think:

Started - Someone has started work on it.
Finished - It has been completed but not implemented.
Delivered - Implemented but not tested.
Accepted - Play tested and is confirmed working.
  • PlasmaPlasma Join Date: 2003-04-26 Member: 15855Members, Constellation, Squad Five Blue
    I believe its:

    Started (task has been started)
Finished (task is now finished, waiting to give it to someone to verify)
Delivered (person verifying the task is complete is testing the code etc)
Accepted/Rejected (verifier has accepted/rejected the task)

    FISIKSTH?

No other forums I seen have loved long acronyms quite like ns2 forums.
    FWALBI (or FWLBT if many)!

the patch is near... i can smell it. but something tells me it wont include onprocessmove optimizations. :-(

Probably next Friday, if its released this Friday it will be a mess I would imagine.

Suits me fine as I am hoping the next build will have noticable server / client performance increases, enough so that a few decent rounds of NS 2 can be had :)

( I didnt bother with CoD MW2 or BO, didnt pick up BFBC 2 Vietnam PC either ... Dead Space 2 and Bulletstorm lack of a demo ( and generally singling out the PC platform for not recieving a Demo ) doesnt sit well with me, seems buying those games is sending EA the wrong message ( ie its safe to mess around with PC players, they wont bite ).... so I needs a decent shooter, and NS 2 is sooooo close to getting there its actually frustrating :P )

I hope the release it this Friday. I'm looking forward to checking out the new client and server physics optimizations. And the FT changes will be certainly welcomed.

We're shooting for Friday, but we've got a couple of things to fix before we can release.

I hope they release it when everything on the progress page is in. Don't want to see the Hydra Optimizatoin postponed again and again ;)

    *edit*
Well then. Can't wait to play none the less :)

Well Max I would rather wait for a patch that fixes stuff , than play a new build that is half done :)

Just came off a 10 v 10 Rockdown match ... met a Gorge in the RR, no RT's , no res , Marines armed with fLAMER's shooting stuff through walls ( nabbed one of 'em as he was staring at the wall and flaming ), adding insult to injury the game crashed and got stuck.
Needed to go to the task manager and kill it there, the game couldnt shut down due to the bug report submit window but wouldnt focus on that window...couldnt report, couldnt close the app.
    Kill task.

I'm getting this as well - the bit about submitting.

I have to kill the process / task and it does not report.

I have a problem with the in-game steam browser not being responsive when I log-in to GetSatisfaction.

I have to copy and paste the URL, minimize and open my web browser to report the bug.
